Yeah well I purposefully look for silvers now and not much else, all that I used to clean them is white vinegar and baking soda

Awesome finds! Have not checked the forum for a few days...give us a text if you wish to go out again. Probably give the parks a miss as the ground is too hard and the beaches better. ...

really nice finds there! that is quite a nice collection of 6ds... I don't find those too often now... mostly 3ds except for that shilling the other day when we went for a hunt. keep it up :)

Today me and the mrs took our 3 year old to mission bay for kfc dinner on the beach, while I had an hour or so I had an aimless wander and found a few spendables and my first cell phone. Took it home and cleaned/charged it and gave the owner a call, gunna give it back to him tomorrow. Was surprised it still went after being in the sand for a few days and especially with the rain we've had but it's sweet as like new :)

HAH what a gc! he gave me a $50 reward.. he was pretty happy to see the phone, I tried to say no reward needed but he reckoned it was a gift from his brother and to take the money :)

I lost a cell phone a few years back that had family numbers on it that i hadn't backed up (dumb i know) and a kind kiwi citizen returned to me. He even turned down my reward. That good act you did is something that that guy will remember.

Went for a couple hour hunt with Goldnut today at my spot I pulled the sixpences from last week. Great place and almost no trash, TON of 1 & 2c pieces though. More silver 3x shillings and 2 more sixpences. Think Goldnut got a few shillings too.

Haha yeah I think it's because I don't like beach hunting much (hate sand getting everywhere) .. def prefer parks/digging and the places I go to now I research first, use the council GIS viewer to slide back and forth in time through aerial photos etc, Usually I already have the place sussed before I get there :)

Didn't get to have a good hunt today which sucks because young girl is sick, however when my mrs took her to pak'n'save tonight for groceries I got a 45min wander at same place I went to yesterday. No great finds but at least I got my tiny silver fix with the threepence.

Ok replacement Lesche came free from the company (thanks guys) and got a new detector, an XP Deus .. went out for my first 2 hunts with it and this is what I found

My oldest coin ever.. also the lead toy soldier is cool.. as well as this I found a lighter and pack of pall mall cigarettes with 19/20 smokes left in the sand.. gave them away though :)
