Took my mate out for his first hunt today to try get him into it, as such I didn't get much hunting in and he was using my pinpointer but did find a few interesting things. Sadly the ring is junk but a cool celtic style design. The camera sd card was a surface find and has photos of some island family burying their mum.. sad.. the axe though is kinda cool, it's really old and crusty and has a hammer end on the back, can anyone identify the axe type/style/period?

Finds

Junk ring

Haha MK that was 2 spots today, first spot I got the HC from but thought I'd go back there another time was busy, the second spot is the one I had my eyes on and was hopeful but only got one 3d and pretty much all the pennies and spendables.. I was so damn sure there was going to be a ton of silver there too...

I have so many spots researched now but just not the time to go investigate them

Very nice little signet ring. Between that and the half crown, you're off to a great start for 2014. Keep the great posts coming!

Todays hunt was the usual, $28 and the usual assortment of pennies/1 and 2c coins..
did get two pieces of silver though the first is a .925 stamped plain ring.. the second a nametag that snapped off a bracelet maybe?

Ring - Inscribed 'Sione & Allanah'
Ring

Nametag front.. think it says Cliff?

Cliff?

Nametag back, hallmarks are NRC.CO Anchor Lion K
This translates to I think National Cash Register co. Birmingham 925 sterling and the K style puts the year at 1959

Went to a nice little spot today and pulled a few things.. camera is shit but here goes..

Finds

5 nice silvers, the young head shilling has no date, the whole front is pretty much worn off so it's like 1847 - 1887 or something

Silvers

More silver, this brooch is nice it still has the pin but no clasp.. it reads 935 depose as the hallmarks, I looked it up and it's an old german silver maker that used a higher percentage of silver than sterling.. hence the 935. Other pieces by the same maker have semi precious stones like amethyst.. this one has a pink stone in the middle and 5 small clear ones.

Brooch

Also a cool old bullet ad this thing was deep like 12"+ can anyone identify it, it's huge and has 2 rings

Bullet

You should check out that 1877 penny.....the narrow date variety is properly the rarest (& most expensive!!) Victorian penny. Even a poor example that's been in the ground for a hundred years would be worth a bit.

Todays hunt.. nothing special really just doing a spendable sweep.

Finds

Did find a nice little 1970's era usa arcade/game token.. on the back it says 'no cash value' haha.

Token

Also thought I'd post this up as it's what I'm focusing on at the moment.. 3 week competition of who can find the most spendables.. I'm 5 days in and found $101 already..

Hard case that you turned up one of those tokens - I picked one up in the middle of nowhere a fortnight ago.

This is where they come from: Hoffman Mint Tokens

Yeah just park hunting at the moment MK, trying to stay focused on spendables and silver coins but every now and then I get distracted and I think 'ooh I'll just dig that'.

Mudwiggle I think that they supply these tokens to other countries too, I saw a russian guy post on a forum saying they use them at his laundromat (in russia?!)
