Well christmas is over and my son is one very happy camper...santa got him his own Fisher F2 metal detector...he is only 7 years old so dad had to shorten handle to it's shortest hole..lol...but he is totally wraped with it....
it was very funny as we wraped all the parts seperatly and the first one he opened was the coil...he didnt know what it was and i didnt tell him..i just said maybe some kind of flying saucer..lol...but he started figuring it out as he opened more of the parts.

and he is very happy that "uncle robert" gave him a fisher pouch for christmas..lol...i told him that santa must of told robert that he was getting a detector so robert droped off a wraped gift to use and it turned out to be the pouch..lol

Yes its an aluminium button with an anchor on it. Thought it was the mega silver find at first. Got out the special excavation tools and camera.. They were quite common i do believe.

thank you kiwi..i met up with robert after work today and took the F2 to hagley park...and true to my nature i found a silver ring with it...lol..along with some of the normal coins and what looks like a couple of old bicycle bells...
So it seams that no matter what Fisher i have weather it be the goldbug or the F2 or what ever they all seam to be silverbugs to me as far as rings go..lol

You have some great finds there PoohB.
Any silver in the pocket watches?
The badge looks like from one of the religions possibly.

I would almost bet that the badge is from the Anglican Church and at a guess is dated around the 1920s - 1930s and another guess is that it was worn by a pupil of one of hte Anglican Private Schools such as St Hildas in Dunedin.

My guesses are not long shots but based on the fact that I have an identical badge here which was worn by the Dragons Mudder when she was a Boarder and Pupil of St Hildas in the 1920s or 30s - my mother of my kids was born when her mudder was about 48 so that puts the Mudder in Law at school about 1930...I think!

I will be interested to hear what others have to say about this badge but I wouyld bet that I am right.

Beati Mundo Cordi means Blessed are the Pure at Heart - after looking at your badge I can now say this after a bit of research - if you had found it in Dunedin then it would definitely be St Hildas Dunedin secondary School.

After more research and looking at other Anglican Secondary School mottos I think your badge is indeed St Hildas, Dunedin.

I leave it to you to judge by comparing it with the Dragons Mudders one.

Ty graham and Andrew....i would say you are both right....it is religious..lol...although it dosnt have the same words as the link to the St margarets one has on it
i would agree it comes from one of the religious schools.
