Hi Goldstalker,

Re your silver container hallmarks.
Although a bit hard to read in your photo I am pretty sure it is by an
English silversmith William Vale and Sons, Birmingham assay office and dated 1912.

You had a great day.
Well done.

It is a bit hard to get the shape from your pics although as it look quite small could it be a pill box or perhaps a sewing kit?

hey guys went out detecting today just for couple hours while doing some usual town crap. and scored a RING!!! lol just a silver but still nice, .925 silver just under 6 grams gave a solid 91 signal on the ATpro same as the gothic florins i found, and also my first army button, says new zealand forces and dates from 1911-1947 not the best condition but its a first for me, i got 2 silver coins 1883 3 pence 77 on ATpro and another 1877 one shilling jumpy 81 82 on ATpro which is normaly a beer bottle top, i havnt got pics of them as there soaking in amonia. i also got this buckle out of the button hole so im guessing its army to ? also found $10 in goldies and 7 pennys from around 1914-1952 and lots of 1cents 2 cents, the silvers i nearly passed as the coins gave 1cents signal and a bottle top signal weird .......

i finished the church as there wasnt much ground to cover, but the park is huge i have gone around the entyre outer of the park but roughly, and only dug most high targets above 60 so theres gold still to go :) lol and i havnt managed to get permission to do the inner feild which is huge, im buttering up the council by donating some finds to local museum, and saving all the nasty trash to show him im cleaning up the place. check out the park on google maps, its called cass square in hokitika, good history there, :)

Yeah that looks like an effort for sure! Churches would be a great place I mean who didn't throw their collection money at the mean girl, doubt times have changed that much. Good on you for making such a solid effort with your machine.

well my guess is someone went to the bank some years ago and got a new batch of coins and lost it that day or soon after. it is mint, not a mark on it at all its defenitly UNC or AUNC my best coin ive dug ever condition wise.
