Lol...yeah, I've tried that before too but find the runny nose dripping on the screen can be an issue!
I find the sure quickfire method to speed up the "resumption of normal service" is to indulge in my other hobby.......going for a 10k run to burn it out...seems to work wonders....it's not for everyone...lol...but works for me.

Hi all,
Here's the booty from last night's hunt with Erickd.
The token is from a Christchurch ironmonger Edward Reese c1860-67.
It was a very faint but constant tone registering an 88 to 92 at 12 inches on the T2se.
The naval button still retains quite a bit of it's original gilding too....nice.

Checked out a couple of new spots today with Erickd....epic roadie with pretty disappointing results, so we settled into plan B, and ended the day at a couple of old reliable spots to get our silver fix.
As usual, Erickd was in top "Silver machine" form.....20 silvers for the day to my hard won but meger 7!!!
Best finds today were the cool old lion and unicorn military button, and the old lead two ringer.

A bitterly cold solo hunt tonight was well worth the effort. Five silvers including my first ever bull head half crown...pretty much unreadable but the outline is clearly George III which makes this little beauty 1816-20.
It would also appear to be counterstamped with what looks like the letters MB.

GL & HH to all.

Cheers mate, really appreciate the feedback.
Shame she's so worn but I guess when yer pushing the 200 year mark, you'd be feeling less than optimal too!
Worn or not, I'm very happy to have it and add it to my pot o pirate treasure.....ahhhrrr!

Out with Erickd on a cold, sleety night hunt last night. Three silvers for me, two of which are widdow head Vickies (both 1900) plus a very nice Victorian brooch or possibly tie pin. It's nicely hallmarked with a Birmingham assay, and a date letter for 1889. The makers mark is "WGM" for Walter and George Myers, silversmiths from Northampton Street, Birmingham. They started their silversmith trade from a small shop in 1878.

Also a nice old military webbing buckle complete with pin, and a modern silver "Yin and Yang" necklace pendant.

No, but did find this link with other people asking the same question. It's not an uncommon thing to find apparently....
