A family trip out of the city today took us to a far flung country town. Managed a couple of hours at a small country school playing field that gave lots of pennies and 1s n 2s. Only two small brit silvers but a nice surprise with a sterling silver cufflink......and an even nicer surprise to find that after cleaning, it is topped with 9ct GOLD.....and a back marking to verify this.....woohoo!

A Sunday roadie with Erickd produced this nice old WW2 sweetheart badge. It would have been enameled but that has long since disintegrated. All that's left is the"onward" badge in the centre and a nice. 925 silver rim.
Also visited an old WW2 gun emplacement and bunker hidden in the bush. A colleague from work had stumbled across it when bush crashing. As can be seen from the pic's, it's totally accessible. We didn't detect this spot but maybe one day....
The other pic shows a spot we did detect....same place I found the badge.

Out with Erickd and Snowdrop for a hunt last night. Quite hard going but did manage to sniggle out a couple of NZ shillings, a small .925 sterling necklace fairy, a few spendies and a cool old WW2 "Onward" badge....the second in two hunts!

A quick hunt this arvo at a well hunted spot produced this nice 1887 Vicky sixpence and a sterling silver fob chain bar....no chain to be found tho.
