Had a really good night-hunt with Erickd last night in close to wind-chill factor zero conditions.
Gotta be pretty damn happy with the hunt actually, as it's always great to find some big silver....and even better when it's young Vicky!
Struck a small patch that must have been missed before, and pulled up the 1876 florin, followed shortly after by the 1881 half crown and the bonus1889 threepence
A very special hunt.

Lol....yeah, you can only guess at how shocked I was too!

Out hunting with Erickd today. It was definitely his day to shine, that's for sure. He picked up this beaut 9ct ring....a real oldiie I reckon.
My day was pretty good too. Eight silvers including this grand old lady......an 1853 Vicky sixpence.....but the day deffo belongs to Erickd...nice work mate.

Enjoyed a couple of good hunts over the long weekend.....one by myself and one with Erickd.
Once again, Eric cleaned up on the silver count. All I could do was sit back in awe, watch and enjoy his skill at tuning into and digging those silvers!
My two best finds from the weekend were;
A cool old Milner and Thompson token circa 1881 and a silver "scottish thistle" button. I think it must be pretty old as it was around the same depth as the token and not that far away from it.

Silvers are silvers but tokens like that are simply awesome to have..would trade silver in for those. Thanks for the company and we shouldn't give up on that new spot, I can feel pull of Gold there

A full day roadie started at 7.30am with Erickd today. Visited four different locations with varied success. First up was a newly discovered domain that looked to have huge potential....but was very hard going due to being very overgrown and neglected. The pics are from this domain and give a pretty good idea of the whole place.
Best find of the day for me was a nice big chunk of silver in the form of a 1920 half crown. Also of note were, an 1893 shilling, an 1866 penny, a St Johns Ambulance Brigade badge and a cool old miniature padlock.
All in all, it was a good day out but pretty hard going.

Hi All,
Hunted last night with Erickd at a spot we knew had some military activity back in the day.......and it didn't disappoint!
Cool to think that it's been sitting there in the ground for close to 99 years most likely.

WW1- 18th Reinforcements hat badge.
Embarked for Devonport, England on the 16th October 1916...arrived 28th December 1916, and then on to Europe.

Hi all,
Only managed a couple of hours last weekend but was happy to come away with five silvers, an old three ringer bullet, a snake buckle (unfortunately broken) and a very cool miniature brass aeroplane.....probably either a spitfire or hurricane. I don't seem to find too many old toys, so I'm real stoked to have this one.
