I am officially speechless and totally blown away by tonight's short hunt.
A real scratchy signal at 7" and was lying on edge.....

I'll just let pic's do the talking.....

You bloody beauty!!!!

The only thing I will add, is that the bull head shilling is now my oldest silver.

Thanks man. No, not quite. Two in two months for me. Coinnut dug two on the same day a couple of weeks back....I think that may be where your thought comes into it.....so yes, I guess three have surfaced this month!

Spent three hours today at this wicked new spot I have been researching....can't say too much about it yet but two words spring immediately to mind..........

.........untapped potential.

1937 half crown, silver buckle ring, another HMS Victory medalette, two H J Hall tokens, a rare 1919 Addington Railways peace demonstration token, four British silvers (all 1870's) and an NZ Medical Corps badge.
Looking forward to getting back to this secret spot real soon!
It's all out there.....go get it!

I am constantly amazed by both the variety of finds coming from Canterbury and the condition of them. Really good to see what is coming out of the ground down there. Anything other than silver seems to be pretty well affected by corrosion up here. Must be something to do with the warmth and the wet. Thanks for the quality of the posts and pics.

Cheers mate. Yeah, most finds seem to have survived pretty well down this way. As you say, must be soil and weather conditions that play a part in this.
Thanks also for your kind words re the posts and pics. As I've said before, it's all about preserving and sharing the history of our young nation before it rots away forever.......the Addington Railways token from yesterday is a perfect example of this.
As long as I keep finding history...and a little bit of gold along the way, I'll continue to share it with those interested.

GL & HH. It's all out there....go get it.
