Interesting that the half crown is also of 1919, though the brass one found previously is just as cool.

Heres the spoils of my last three hunts, the latest being last night when I hooked up with Number 8 and Foiled Again and another hunt with Foiled Again and Coinnut. Cheers fellas. Been a bit lucky with the silvers but my favourites are the tokens and medal. The medal still retains a lot of its gold gilt. Any help on how rare this is would be helpful. Cheers and happy huntin yall.

Got in a short hunt in a wee country domain on the way home this arvo and was pleasantly surprised with what was still in the ground. 9 wee silvers and other bits and bobs in a fairly small patch of the field. My thoughts are that back in the day this part of the park was set up with stalls or a market. Happy huntin yall.

Quick dip in cloudy ammonia does the trick.

Got out for a great hunt with Foiled Again, Number 8 Wire and Coinnut last night, cheers fellas. Could almost call it a club hunt lol. Hunting in a well worked areas in Hagley and still got very lucky with two silver pocket spills, both with a shilling each, very cool. Also dug about $5 in spendies and heaps of 2cent coins and half corroded 303 shells.

Just a quick update on this years first few trips. Had a couple of solo trips and a hunt with Erickd and No8wire the other nite. A nice little silver ring to start the year and a cool painted lead soldier, something that's been on my bucket list for a while.

Havnt been out for a while but heres some pics from my last few trips. My latest was last night with Ericd at a country domain of which I also got back to this arvo on the way home. And also a trip with No8wire a while back. Last night it seemed the park didn't want to give up anything and seemed hunted out when I found a wee spot on a bank in the bushes set up like an old grandstand and the finds just poured out. One thing that I think is really cool is a ring that I got while dark. Had a look at it today after I cleaned it and it turns out to be a silver plated spoon that has been turned into a ring. Whats cooler is that it has NZ^D stamped on it.(its meant to be an upturned arrow between letters) which I assume makes it early military. First pic is last night and this arvos finds. The silver bangle pics are from a trip with No8 out of town and last pic from a wee solo trip in town.
Happy hunting.

Went on a wee roadie with Erickd and No8Wire today. Thanks Erickd for the researching you do. Ended up with 8 wee silvers and 2 nice cond New Zealand Forces buttons and a cool little plaque along with the usuall pennys etc.
Also got out for two other solo trips during week with the first at two north Canterbury domains and a quick hunt in town one arvo.
Ended up with $32 spendys from the domains, a couple of sivers, a silver plated penny pendant and a sweet sterling silver ring from Germany.
In town I found a wee patch in a very cleaned out park that gave up a wee silver and a couple of pistol balls and other stuff.
