We might have had a good day but we won't have matched that little lot.

Well done Jason, I might have to start following you after work to see where you go........

I'm just amazed that places like this spot of yours still exist! From all the stories I've heard since I started detecting, Christchurch was cleaned out in the 70's, 80's and 90's by the old crew............great to see that's not necessarily the fact.
Went to my "secret spot" on Sunday and hit my first pocket spill.... a 1947 half crown, 1947 florin, 1947 half penny and a 1951 sixpence, all from my first dig of the day. Unfortunately it was all pretty-much down hill from there, as I spent the next two hours helping the council with trash removal!
Still, with this "Great Untapped" spot of yours, there's hope for us mere mortals yet!........ Just gotta keep the eyes open for new opportunities when traveling our city and suburbs...........thanks for the inspiration Foiled again and WTG!

You do know of course Jason that nobody is going to speak to you at the club meet on Sunday don't you??

Seriously, 24 silvers is mind blowing. Well done on finding that field.

Cheers fullas. Pity the coins from this place arent in very good nick. the pennies are bubbly corroded and the silvers very stained/tarnished. I took a photo after having scrubbed them a bit in white vinegar last night (I use cloudy ammonia but have none left and had no time to go to the shop as was md'ing too much and not doing other real stuff lol)

Everyone seems to be doing well lately! Well done you lot!
I braved the conditions last night for a quick nosey around my current good spot-glad I did!

Best find was what I think you call a mens signet ring? Anyway its 9k GOLD ring! Yea boi!
Also a great find was a 1902 Edward vii half crown. Bit worn but cool big ol silver. That was in 10 seconds of swinging the coil! It got joined by a 1933 florin, 1940 & 1943 sixpence, 1922 3d and a date unknown but Victorian 3d
There's another to find and I'm gunna find it!

Righto heres a coupla pics for yiz.
The ring showed up on the GB at 68-actually same as my only other 9k GOLD ring from a few months back. Dunno whether its a slightly different tone or what but thats around pulltab numbers and I was compelled to have a look...

Also included a pic of the 1908 (hard to tell) half crown. Real discoloured-wouldnt even think its sterling lol!
Oh, and the 1837 (my second oldest coin recovered) sixpence from Hagley. I scratched it a bit due to packed soil and blimmin treee roots although it wasnt deep...

That 9k ring of yours is a sweet find Jason. It looks very 1900's....possibly earlier. Is it hallmarked? I'd be hugely stoked to find a ring of that age in that kinda condition. Some great finds there mate, well done.
