Also met up with Hunter for a look around Hagley and scored two more silvers. Happy days!
A few nights before, I found a cool 925 ring with a wicked eyeball!

All from fendalton. pity the half crown wasnt an nz one to match the set. the silvers coins scrubbed up real nice and the 1941 shilling had only 360,000 minted so thats a good find.

A threepence

A florin
A half crown
No full crown, but all nice silver coins!
Will throw up a pic tomorrow. Had to hang around trying to find the elusive threepence to complete the set lol

Nice one Foiled again. Your silver collection must be starting to look pretty good by now. Last count i had 41 and they took one year to find.
Keep up the cool posts.

A 1935 sixpence! That is a low minting year. Might be worth something someday.

that's what I thought when I saw it! Then I started thinking is it the threepence that's the rare one...which it is...doh!

Checked out one of the buttons..has "Cheney b'ham on it. They made military buttons etc in the 20th century. Small bit if totally useless info for yas.

Edit- ooh I see it was a 560k mintage for the sixpence. Cheers mk!

Woop! Found my second oldest coin last night-1837 sixpence from Hagley. Quite a low mintage as well coulda been dropped around the time Christchurch was founded-thats pretty cool. A 1933 threepence gave me two silvers for the night.

Howdy folks. Had a day off today so spent a solid 4 hrs or so wandering around my new secret location lol.
Came away with 122 coins all up. Knew I'd got a few but man when you add them up!
Have a read...

1908 3d
1912 sixpence
1913 3d
1919 sixpence
1919 shilling
1922 3d
1922 shilling
1933 nz shilling
1946 nz sixpence
1965 florin
1943 three pence (one of those dodecagonal ones)
45 pennies all up. Oldest 1875-oh wait, make that 1863. Most the pennies in poor corroded condition but a handful are pre 1900
12 half pennies
16 one cent
16 two cent
$26.30 spendies

Two badges (will post a photo of one for id if someone knows)
And other odds n sods as usual. And I think the backing of a pocket watch

Hope you all had a great day if you were out hunting!
