Had a good day with a few spendies and 2 silver rings with nice stones. Yes Expat it happened again one after the other just like the day you were with me last time! Now I dont care if you never believe me (I wouldnt believe you) but its true and a couple having a picnic 10 meters away thought it was great.

Now a word of warning. When a little 4 year old boy asks you "what you are doing"?
Dont say "looking for worms" because..........
the six year old girl says why are you looking for worms with a metal detector?
I said very good question! True story happened sun afternoon.

And heres the picture expat wanted taken of him in the snow. Very committed!

Cheers Mike

My greatest fear is that when I die my wife will sell my collection for what I told her it cost me.

Had a great day in rangiora today with ash.
Pic tomorrow but goodies included a big silver men's Nike ring, silver coins, an award medal thing looks silver n GOLD from 1909, and two 1876 Heaton mint pennies. Very happy!!

Tonight went for a look around Hagley with hunter and got 3 silvers a heap o bullets and a cool eagle which could be s GOLD gilt RAF pilots hat badge. Here's hoping!

*Righto heres some photos-no time to resize or sort out so heres a bunch to look at-ah well you know its what we like to do when we check in here is check out the pics!

I know early stuff harder to find and I get a buzz discovering it! Almost blimmin expect it now hoho.

Don't worry expat it's only once in a while lol and I asked permission for a paddock in my diplomatic way and the old guy didn't take too kindly but said why don't ya bloody try the river bank where they dumped all the cars after the war!
Wouldn't really fit in my bum bag and I don't know what number they'd come up as lol
There's another to find and I'm gunna find it!

Yea I had a temporary visa lol :-)

So hit the Hagley with hunter and ash tonight. Pretty poor on the coin count for me maybe one each of 1 & 2c, and two modern coins. Just one 1936 threepence, but a nice looking 925 ring and a button with makers name who went bankrupt in 1879 I think it was so its an oldie.

Some great finds by the others so look out for those!

Cheers Foiled again. My home town is kaiapoi. You might find me old bracelet. Was the rage in the 70's to have a silver bracelet, the kind with your name engraved on a face plate.
I lost mine on the primary school grass/field area. I know this cos i found it a year and a half later... Saw a little glint out of the corner of my eye, reached down and there it was just lying in the grass. How lucky was that? Whats the odds. Dont know where it is now.

Braved the damp and cold to get a fix last night!
Went for a wander along the roadside of a part of Hagley. Managed four silvers including an interesting one...a 1912 Shilling that someone had modified into a badge so that King George V would be on display...very patriotic!
The fish thing is interesting..is it GOLD?? nah maybe not hehe..its enamelled and jewelled and even the fish are jointed so the body moves in waves. Dont know exactly what it is..just a piece?
