And i feel really luck to find 1-2 :-(

on the other hand - i have all the beaches for myself :-)

But silver coins are nice... especially 925 UK ones...

Keep those targets coming! :-)

I went to Waltham Park last night and joined by the ever keen poohbear, (geez if its not water everywhere its blimmin fog! Man it was foggy last night!)
Anyway I recommend NOT going to that park! (its not like it was full of GOLD and silver and Im keeping it secret, alas its the worst park ive hunted at-trash everywhere as well as deep junk metal, false signals detector chirping off so much it was nearly impossible lol. Only things of note were a 1912 H'penny and a 1922 penny) Oh and a 5 baht coin..

BUT after getting fed up there I led us to a park that gave up 3 silvers for me and some for PB as well so that made up for a hard cold wet night!
Looking forward to a nice day Sunday for a daytime swing around ooo yeah!

Well at a well covered part of hagley last night I thought I better dig a few signals that I dont normally.
Turned up a handful of 5c as they read about 60 on my GBug which I reckon could be where a sov might show (could be anywhere 48-62 I spoze?)
Anyway turned up a snake buckle as well which I hope is a military one!
Two lil silvers and $10 in cold hard cash all saw me ok for the two hunt till batteries died lol

I love your enthusiasm Mike!!
Yea , maybe thats what needs to be done there-maybe I should throw on my 5" (I must be too lazy about changing coils-never even thought about the small coil lol)and we'll go give it a bash. I think patience is the key!

Have had a great couple of nights last two.

Last night visited little Hagley with hunter, ash and poohbear. I wasn't expecting to find Anything really with it being quite explored, however it gave up a couple of treasures for me.
Best find I'd what i guess is a WWII era toy...a very cool metal spitfire fighter plane. I think it's brass or something?
Also scored three silvers incl a uk 3d and a few musket balls.

Tonight I hit a part of Hagley with hunter and uncovered two silvers including a beaut 1846 sixpence.
Another cool find is a 1858 Australian 'peace & plenty' token minted by heaton.
Oh and a cool lead bullet head. One of those big ones with a couple of grooves in it.
Probably won't be out again for nearly a couple weeks so great few nights to go into a break on!

Happy treasure huntin' guys n gals!

Well done Jason, I look forward to seeing that mini spitfire at the next meet. Nice find by the sound of it.

My greatest fear is that when I die my wife will sell my collection for what I told her it cost me.

They say Hagley Park is the jewel in the crown... I say its the Jewels in the Ground!!!

After not detecting for a few weeks Hagley was great to revisit last night!
A small 9 carat GOLD signet ring and four silver coins were graciously given up along with a few pennies etc (oldest 1863) and also a button which I havent come across yet..a WW1 era 'P & T NZ' (Post and Telegraph).
Suffice to say I'm very happy, especially after seeing some of the very cool stuff you fullas have been finding lately!
Will be a few days before I can get out again. but cant wait haha!

She's a jewel, but someone's mistreating her.

Word on the street is that Botanic Gardens staff recently found a bunch of unfilled holes over by the band rotunda and they are NOT HAPPY. "Looks like it had been invaded by gophers" was the term used.

Someone needs to smarten their act up REAL QUICK, or else all of us will lose out.

Firstly, I've never even considered the idea of detecting INSIDE the Botanic Gardens. That's one of those "No go" area's as far as I'm concerned and believe that it should remain the case for us all.
What we do in and around Hagley with our chosen hobby, is a privilege and NOT a right. None of us can afford to lose sight of this fact or take anything for granted.
We all need to take responsibility for our actions, as one person could potentially ruin it for us all. Myself and those new to this addictive hobby, have the most to lose from the aforementioned offensive and irresponsible behavior. All those who use Hagley must keep vigilant to this kind of anti-social behavior and if we see this crap happening, we need to flush out those responsible and enforce some kind of internal detectorist discipline to them!

....just my opinion......

Coincidentally, I happened to be talking to the head sports ground-keeper at Hagley the other day. He was saying that he often speaks to us dectorists and has nothing but praise for the way we generally conduct our activities..........as long as we stick to the tree-lines and don't invade the playing fields, he's happy.

Man I cant believe someone would dig holes and just leave them! Surely as a detectorist (of some sorts) they would take the five seconds to tidy up after! Its a simple thing-they must have no social conscience. Its almost as pleasing leaving no sign as it is pulling the treasure! Its a real worry hearing stuff like that-last thing we want is for the general public to hear about it and starting giving us grief when they see us and then things getting to a point where signs go up saying no MD'ing here.
There's another to find and I'm gunna find it!

The other thing that pisses me off is when someone digs a signal and finds that it is trash so they leave it in the hole instead of taking it out...then the next guy comes along and finds the same trash because the person was to lazy to take it out..
