Wandered out last night in the dark to walk the dog and detector-pretty darn glad I did!
Scored three silvers, obviously the best being an 1875 Gothic Florin (die no. 30) with great detail but some slight greying. Was right at maximum depth (pin pointer plus an inch or 2) as it was just a good number but very faint noise. Actually nearly gave up haha.
The grapevine thing looked GOLD but wasn't, coupla oldish pennies and a broken cufflink from about the 1960's with "The Hi Fi Club, Sponsored by your Coca Cola Bottler' on it. Different-never knew the club existed but had millions of members worldwide. Learn something new every day from detecting then researching!

Got out for a night hunt with Number 8 after work last night-check out his thread if ya haven't already!!
Only a small haul of stuff from a well hunted area, but more silver for the treasure chest and always like finding the old pistol/musket balls.
Even came across a tennis ball for the dog after just talking about it yesterday-I talk about GOLD coins too but where are they...? LOL

Love the gothic florin mate....a real stunner!! They're usually pretty worn out cos there wasn't any crowns & bugger all halfs minted around the time so they took a lot of circulation. Catch up with you fellas soon.

yay my week for two days off in a row. made the most of it with a go for a few hours yesdy and a great find is a complete gordonia condom case and theres something rattling around inside which i reckon is the original hopefully unused condom-way cool. ive cleaned the case but wont come apart easily so i might have to lube it haha. would love to have it complete normally you only find the lid.
couple of silvers-an 1880 thrup and a 1921 sixpence. what else, oh yea another lense thing which ive found one other and have heard a few guys may have found one-i assumed from binoculars but this one had a casing with the name so now i know they are lense filters.

today headed to a tranquil ex picnic place with coinnut and had a couple of good finds incl a mighty 1937 half crown, 2 shillings and a thrup. a nice little locket not gold and no photo or hair, and a 1974 commonwealth games one dollar. i have two uncirculated ones of these but first one ive found.heap of brown buggers too-about 33 haha

Nice mixture of interesting things there. I like that Commonwealth coin and what a nice colour. I have got one uncirculated one in a case as well, but I am sure I would like it better if I had dug it from the ground.

Another nice warm one last night so another excuse to get out for a wander!
Not bad when the 3rd target is a GOLD ring weighing in at 4.5g. Pity it was dealt to by a ruthless cutting machine!
Another version of the Gordonia condom case lid, 1891 h'penny, 1921 thrup and a coupla NZ pennies snuggled up in a hole together.
Get out there and happy huntin' !
