Lol! Oh man I was getting the awesome 86 signal and just under the surface was that friggin thing so had to move the whole thing to get the half crown underneath. Stinkin nz penny!! Had me going tho!

Lol, you have to wonder how a coin gets under a big ass rock. NZ pennies read pretty high on my detector some times, much higher than Brittish, and with that good strong signal they tend to get my hopes up that it is a big silver.

I honestly was thinking someone had hidden their half crown under the rock for some reason many moons ago! Always the optimist....!

Sure did double check!

The weather turn out alright after work so went down to my local park and decided Id go slow over an area I have had some success. Came away with four silvers so Im stoked!

Dont ya love when you have a little ball of dirt in your hand and its beeping, so you gently squeeze it to reveal the lovely silver (and imprint) inside. Just like xmas!

Finds from last night. Thought the locket was a bloody sovereign when first sighted! Its pretty light so no gold for sure.

I'm lovin that little locket Jason. A very cool moment in time when you opened it up to revel the tiny pic inside, of the young lady from the 1930's,40's.........a photo not seen for probably 60 to 70 years............almost a wee time capsule. How cool was that!!!
Great stuff mate...........when's the next night hunt???

Went out to Sheffield domain and stopped at another place on way back.
Best find was a 1943 florin but also scored 1866 & 1867 pennies, another locket (empty), 3x sixpences, a metal horse head possibly the top of a trophy and about $27 plus some other odds n sods. I've had a tidy up to sort many outings finds that have been piling up on bits of newspaper everywhere. Is much better to keep on top of it as you go!

Couldn't help myself tonight on such a warm one so took a little drive to a domain just out if of town for some crusty pennies and dirty silvers haha!
Scored 2x 1946 threepences, 1933 sixpence and 1937 florin.
Also got a Chch pony club badge, a girl guides badge with angel wings and a cracroft Canterbury pin.
Damn keen to go out somewhere tomorrow night if it's another great one weather wise!
There's another to find and I'm gunna find it!
