Damn I can't see any stamps on the ring. It looks like silver but perhaps it's a junker. I always get excited and think the best of these things! Like tonight I'll find a gold ring with diamonds n rubies...hehe
There's another to find and I'm gunna find it!

Well time to post again. Have been out a bit and added to the treasure chest a bit with silver coins mainly.
Something else that comes to mind was a 1942 Sirian ww2 emergency coin in brass.

Decided to hit da Hagley tonight and glad I did.
3 half crowns 2x1933 and one 1950
1941 florin
1933 sixpence
1933 & 1946 threepence

Looked high and low for the shilling alas no go. Bloody found three the other day too.

Also got 6 bucks and a cool playing card keychain pocketknife.

Looking forward to Sunday morning but just not exactly sure when I'll get there. Imagine how many coins we'l find! And someone will find something special I bet!

Gotta love those half crowns mate. People say Hagley is hunted out of all the big silver now, and that any big stuff that's left is just too deep to get...............Bollocks!..........and you've just proven it. Way to go dude and see ya Sunday.

Nice going Jason. Dont worry about the shillings, you'll have a dozen by Sunday afternoon.

My greatest fear is that when I die my wife will sell my collection for what I told her it cost me.

I may have just found another magic untouched country location!

Spent around two hours exploring around. First 20 mins or so only turned up 1c & 2c but then it started warming up with some silvers showing themselves. Some old coins were but an inch down and all coins are in great clean condition-probably the nicest of any place I've been. I'll bring em to the next meeting and have fun entertaining some guesses from the boys as to location hehe. Good place to go next Monday!
Anyways here's the loot; 48 coins total-best ones,

1880 &1919 shilling
1934 shilling x2
1934/35/36 sixpence
1940 & 1943 threepence
1902 threepence
1949 Australian threepence
1896 penny x2
1916 Aussie penny
Also a blue enamel badge with NZMU around the top and 'CB' intertwined in the middle. Guna research that now. And the coins to see if any rare ones. From memory the 1935 nz sixpence was low issue.....

There's another to find and I'm gunna find it!

Beautiful work Jason. A wee bit of time spent doing some research (I assume) comes up trumps again. Look forward to seeing the results. Way to go mate.

Heres the pics of coins as dug-as you can see theres no corrosion or staining which is cool!
Nice picturesque place and a short walk to the river was a must for the dog. HAd a swing around not expecting much and that came true-but did locate a pulltab!
Got a great 86 signal and had to excavate a huuge rock for my Nz penny doh!

Oh hehe I meant that only about the river bed. I was kinda hoping it was a frolicking place for the lifestylers back in the day but probably not

Just out of curiosity, what sort of reading does a 'big ass rock' give you?
