Kids always ask me does it find notes. I can say now yes it does. Brilliant! I had to tell my wife about that one. She is not that interested in metal detecting, but she is amused that it amuses me and is very supportive except when we are travelling from A to B on long journeys and I suddenly stop and say "... I need to have a rest..." and whip out of the car with my kids, detector in hand, to a school playgound. And its only 1/2 and hour from the last time we stopped! Her patience wears a little thin at times. Its a hard job finding the perfect woman!

Did a blog post on this the other day. I reckon on the beaches there is on average 800 pieces of gold for every 1 km of beach. Most people reading this go "Yeah Right" but think about it and work it out - 80-100 years of beach goers..... I hold to that figure. My blog post explaining my thoughts on this is here:

Beaches Sprinkled with gold

Of course getting to these riches is another matter entirely.
