So I have not been having any luck on the ring front for 4 trips now. Just a couple of junk ones is all.
Today I braved the heavy rain and even hail for a couple of hours but hat to be satisfied with some coins....
I did find this gaming token known as a put and take. Its like a spinning top, which ever side faces up when it stops spinning and falls over dictates what the player has to do. I assume it was played with tokens of some sort.
Here is a pic.

So I had a bit of a hunt yesterday, was flat out digging targets the hole time. Resulted in the things below along with about a dozen rubbish coins. the gold ring is large but light at 2.8g. A massive amount of bullets and other items. A ring with anchor on it and a thin silver ring, also the mystery ring from my other post.

A mixed bag from two hunts at the beach. A nice 14k ring, silver bangle and an 'eye ring' yesterday and some assorted goodies today. I happened to find the worlds cleanest pennies today. A small 9ct locket a gold? dolphin thing and a J.M Mackey Auckland, Maker broach looking thing. Any ideas what that might be? Also a couple of silver coins.... All good

So I have had the pleasure of finding a gold ring with some hallmarks. Now, where are all those ring detectives? Anyone know what the laast letter might be? I think the anchor means Birmingham. task force 43 - http://www.navalhistory....ute-operation-deepfreeze

From what I can see it looks like a capital H with scrolls which makes it 1982 made in Birmingham. If its a capital K with scrolls it is 1985. Hard to tell in photo as it looks a bit worn but hope this helps. If you goggle Brittish hallmarks you can usually find a good table of hall marks going way back with dates and provinces etc.

Hey there chrischch. Most of my finds are from less than a foot in depth. I sort of get a foot on pennies but don't find too many of them. I run my detector in the auto sensitivity setting which creates a nice smooth threshold. If I ran it at max sensitivity I could get more depth but its also quite noisy. A lot of the noise is due to the quite different make up of the beaches I detect. Its basically quartz shelly sand with plenty of iron rich basalt gravel. If you use disc and there is enough basalt it can actually cancel out non ferrous signals. Anyway I think the items I got this Sunday were from around the 10cm mark or less, but I was hunting an eroded patch.

So the old watch with name etc is a rolex? If so then great find! Any chance it will be repairable? The other finds I would be stoked with individually but to get that lot in one go is doing great!

There is a watch attached yes and it works fine. Was found in the water. Will take it to dealer to confirm authenticity. Have extensively googled it and can't find anything to suggest it's fake. Will keep you posted.
