Good luck.

All I can say is that I have hunted the same spot more then ten times within 6 months and have gotten silver nearly every time and found 4 gold rings... it takes a while to hunt out a spot ;)... Good luck there... I will be in the city centre too... but I can only go out after 1pm. We should all work on getting some special permissions in the area and do a big bunt together.

Ok so found a nice little spot in west auckland, don't think it's been hunted before as the number of targets is crazy and not too much junk. Anyway went there twice now and this is what I've found so far.. the pic with all the coins is blurry .. couldn't get camera to focus haha.

The silver ring is stamped 925 then a circle with an x inside.. I think the other ring may be silver (based on tone) but obviously had a lot of stones in it before lawnmower got to it. (update) - used some pliers to pry the band open, it snapped haha but found the small 925 mark inside I was looking for :)

I haven't done a lot out west yet. Mostly hunting avondale, pt chev. I think Goldnut would be keen also but he is out east so maybe we could find somewhere central.

Sounds like we have a bit of interest in the group hunt. I'm busy this weekend but would be real keen for the following weekend. If there is going to be three or four or even more of us then maybe we should pick a large area like Cornwall park. What do you guys think?

Grubby Cornwall park has a no dig policy. We would all like to hunt there but it is not permitted unfortunately.
It is actually private land I understand owned by the Trust.

Wow! I am glad you said that! I have done a couple of hunts there already. I had no idea it was off limits. The sign at the entrance on manukau rd said the park was gifted to the people of auckland city. :( oh well. Open to suggestions for a location for a group hunt.

That has been tried without success before too, I have been told.

Such a shame our two biggest parks in auckland are off limits. It makes me want to move to chch.
