Woohoo...a nice big bit of silver retrieved from deep in the Dunedin bush. The ears nearly bled from the banging signal this beauty gave.....stoked!

A nice warm autumn evening for a hunt last night, so met up with Kev and foiled again.
It was one of those nights when silver seemed to jump to the coil. Only one penny to be found but ended up with nine little silver beauties including a nice but undatable standing Brittania florin. I feel very fortunate to have found three of those now.
Also of note was another undatable but nice young bun vicky shilling.
Really having to listen hard for those faint but steady wee blips. The shilling was a good 10 to12 inches and only a faint but constant tone......would have been very easy to miss by sweeping too quickly.
Slow and low is the only way to go.

Thanks Jimmy, here's a pic of one I dug (also on a night hunt with foiled again) last year. It was only around four inches down and directly at the base of a big old tree. I reckon it must have been lost not long after leaving the bank, as from what I've been told it's pretty rare to find them with the date still readable.
Good luck out there. Surely your old racecourse must have one or two tucked away amongst the wealth of sovereigns!
