Will be there for sure. Sounds great and thanks for organising it all. Won't need accomodation as I'll sleep in the car.

Cheers,

Thanks Pete, looks like you have things ontrack for an epic weekend of fossicking, sharing tall tales and maybe learning some new tricks.

I am looking forward to this and will have my highbanker and river sluice with me.

Hello everyone - I have been away from Paydirt for far too long. I'd be very keen for a weekend down south, was just thinking this week that I need to take some time off work.

My brother has been watching those clowns on the Discovery Channel and caught gold fever. He made a sluice box, threw the nephews in the truck and came over to Hokitika in the school holidays. Of course it rained for 3 days as soon as they got here but we did find a few specks up at Goldsbrough. When they went home they left me the sluicbox as a birthday present - I'll bring it down south and see if it's a good model.

I'll try and book a cabin since I'm getting soft in my old age.....

Creamer, if you stop off at Hagley Park for half a day and then go to NZdiggers silver mine for an hour or two, you might actually make a profit on the trip.

Not a bad idea. I was hoping that a big GOLD nugget might be waiting for me down there. As for Hagley, at the rate its goin there wont be much left by the time we get there. Then again , the ace might pick up a surprise. We will just follow Poohbear around! he seems to find well.

Yep, catering for both
possibly doing something a little different for Saturday nights meal
southern version of Turf & Surf
Just need to see how many are attending before finalizing , looking good so far though
Keep those PM’s coming so I can gauge the numbers attending
Even got a few coming from the North Island

Im thinking that if we all turn our detectors on at once in the campground, they may implode.. And i cant find any rounds for me capgun, yet. Couple hundred should do it.

Whats the capgun for Shane? Going to scare some gold out of the ground with it? ;)
And now....On sandy beaches and muddy soil, rings and coins await my coil!

Thats the idea, scare up some GOLD. A quick draw challenge if any one is fast enough.
.
All jokes aside. I hope we can make it down. Tits a long way back home.

If you do come creamer I know a place you could take a detector and you could sure get some nuggets or nugget or maybe wet feet or just plain nothing.

and not far from Lawrence. I managed at Glen Dhu Forest for 6 years and that's the only clue. and as you may not know what Glen Dhu is its the Forestry north of Lawrence about 7000 hectares. I think there are about 10 different old mining sites beside or within it. and a large number of creeks.

cheers Treeman.

Hi Creamer,
Have you considered flying down? We booked online through Flight Centre - NZ671 $99.02 seat plus bag, leaving Auckland 7.15 am Fri morning, flight back leaving Dunedin 5.10pm Tues NZ674 $119.00 seat plus bag so you'd be able to take your machine with you. I just checked and there are still seats available on both flights.
You'd be welcome to stay at our place in Arkles Bay before and after the weekend if that helps.
Cheers, John

Hi there, I must have missed something as I thought the date had not been decided at this time. Is it in November?
