Do you think that SOS pendant is an early form of Medic Alert?
The number could easily be a phone number.

Through the powers of Google, I deduce that Metal Kiwi is correct in his assumption. It be a British version of our Medic Alert

ya i thought it might be something like that..and the number could be a number in the medical system that identifies what the person may have wrong with them ..like if an ambo person finds the wearer of the pendant un contious they can type that number into there system and it will let them know what medical problems they have..

oh well once again a diff find other than pull tabs and the normal coins...lol...

Spur for sure. Interesting that it apears to be stapless.

Cool and interesting find PB. There was horse racing in Hagley in the early days (like 1880's?) so I wonder if its from those times?
I found a huge horseshoe in Hagley and thought it might be from those old days
There's another to find and I'm gunna find it!
