Ive found one GOLD ring, a few items with some GOLD plating on them and some flecks of GOLD on a quartz rock from thames. That first GOLD ring find is enough to carry me thru to the next one, who knows what will turn up next.. Good luck at the beach.

...just the one find. .925 silver ring and a 10k GOLD ring with tiny diamond.

Nice silver. Good finds from The Groynes.

I got sick of housework today so went to Hagley for a few hours. Was walking down the path by that first settlement monument (heading for my target area) and so was holding the detector still out on the grass to the side of the path (so walking normal speed and not swinging the detector - just doing a strip alongside the path) and got a good DING, so dug it and it was a 1942 shilling. That's a good sign, I said to myself.

In the target area, found a pocket spill of 2 pennies and two silver shillings, so gridded the immediate area, and found a worn british sixpence with a hole in it (for a necklace) about a metre from the pocket spill and a few metres away a 1934 half crown. Nice!

Chunky ring you found there Poohbear. You seem to be a magnet for silver rings.
Well done on the half crown finds to you and Oroplata.

Cheers for the company out there tonight Chris.
Glad I could help clear all those nasty scraps of cans and pull tabs so you could get the good stuff ;)
It was a fun session though - I have a few more numbers to look for next time I'm out
