Hows it going folks after my long trip overseas I was chomping at the bit to get out after some gold. After completing some chores yesterday morning I headed off to a gravel bank/terrace that had been washed out by the river and I had found gold at the base of. A mate and I had found a 1.5 grammer and 5 grammer by digging into the bank in the past. The aim for the day was to see if any more nuggets lurked within the terrace. Well what do you know after 5 hours of hard slog I had 2 bits for a total of 0.2g haha. After that let down I wandered upstream for an hour detecting and got absolutely nothing, not even rubbish. I detected around an old miners camp and got 2 1876 pennys in really good condition too. I spent the night in the bush under a tarp and had a terrible sleep on account of the strong wind waking me up all the time.

Next day I fought my way out of the bush and headed up a different river. An hour and half later I got my first bit- less than 0.1g. I recon I must have forgot how to do the gold thing on my holiday. Next signal was better however, a nice 1.45g nugget. Then the rain and a nasty looking gorge made me head home.

All in all not a bad start.
