I imagine an american solider lost it whilst trying to chat up one of my grandmas whilst our boys were off fighting overseas! Also see the size of the part of the ship nail I found; this piece weighs 300 grams! Also beautiful old harmonica plates and an ointment cap which says" Wellcome chemical works more than 270 highest awards" Lastly an "Old Timer" pocket knife with all the iron rotted away to nothing, just three brass layers left and the bone or early plastic layer on one side. Also a watch face from another watch.

That certainly is an amazing beach Tonznz.
Seems like it may have been an area where rubbish was dumped rather than lost items judging by the stuff you find.
Keep the pics coming - always interesting.

I find white vinegar is often useful on copper or silver but not together or you can copper plate the silver.

How long do you put a coin in the white vinegar metal kiwi?

Ah yes well Tonznz you need to keep an eye on it as vinegar is a light acid.
Sometimes a minute is enough on the silver.
Copper usually take s a bit longer.
I don't say that it will always get everything off but it is useful as a mild cleaner
of soils that soap n water will not shift.
