That's a bloody nice Gothic Florin there Tony, and in such good condition too for it's age. I've been lucky enough to have found four Gothic's so far (all very worn examples) and my Teknetics Delta 4000 also rang a consistent and solid 89 over them.

When are you up this way next?

I found one the same a while back.

My one is dated 1928 and the key code on it is "BU".

It has "Wormald's Patent" above the date, and on the back:

Manufactured by the
Wormalds' Patent Lock
Co Limited
Norfolk Street
Sheffield.

The company is still running today.

If you could clean it up and find the key for it, it could be worth a bit...

Your finds never cease to amaze and inspire me. thanks for taking the time to show us. I get very homesick though as the last of my family have just moved from Dunedin after generations going back to pioneering days. Dunedin will always be home and the history there is great.
