Wow that 1916 florin is in really good nick.
I wonder if that is a clue as to how long that cache has been there.
Actually if that is right it fits with WW1. Spooky.

Great find Tony.

Is the mint mark at the bottom of the shield on the 1879 an S or is it a die num? It looks like its in good condition so could be worth quite a bit more than gold content.

holy crap bro that 1879 half sov was minted in sydney and is worth any thing up to 1100 pound
depending on condition and the 1899 half sov was minted in melbourne and is worth up to 650 pound.
if they were un curculated the 1879 would be worh 3500 pound and the 1899 be worth 2750 pound.
got yourself a couple of nice coins bro, well done.

Amazing Tonznz, you are a sov magnet. Good things must come in two's down your way as i recall you finding two the last time. Youve got me and Chrisyboy in a flurry now, all we want is too find a sov.
You must have a good camera. Really like that pic post #621
