Finding stuff with Hallmarks is cool I reckon.
Just gives you an extra dimension to a find.
Well done.

A couple of years ago I didn't really know how hallmarks work. As a result of this hobby and the great resources on the net I do now know. Recently I have learnt a bit about how coins can have mint marks on them that tell one where the coin was minted.

Yeah and when you unearth something shiny and cant help saying out loud "what the hell is thaat"
and then looking around furtively to see who heard you :-))

I was just thinkinh the site was pretty quiet and that everybody was hiding from the rain. Glad to see someone with a bit of dedication! Pretty nice haul you made there Tonz, I was out for a bit between showers and only found a couple of pennies and a musket ball.

Nice haul there Tony. Gotta be happy with that 33 half crown and others from the spill.

But on a far more serious note.........
I think that the "T DUFF" (like the windscreen wipers) was a subliminal message from a long deceased but wise old spirit telling you to "go home now. There's an ice cold DUFF in the fridge with your name on it Homer"..........and DOH!.....you did!............creepy stuff!

Hi Tonz,DB.
If you take photos in bright incandesant light (tungsten type lighting) it comes out yellowish sepia tones. I use natural light and a flash if necessary. Hope that helps.

Cheers MM.
