Cheers for the big 'ups' mate. Like you, I have drawn much of my inspiration and motivation from guys like foiled again, roy1954 and coinnut on this forum. Those guys work hard at this great hobby and their positivity and passion is a real motivational driver.
I know it sounds cliché but just getting out there and putting the hours into both a bit of research and swinging the coil, does pay dividends in the long run.
I'm also a firm believer in mentally "putting it out there"
Two targets on my mental bucket list are a full sov and one of those cool lion head police cloak clasps....it's all out there just waiting to be found!

Didn't do as much hunting over the weekend as I wanted to because of the rain but dusted off the ATpro and got out.
Pretty happy with the snake ring marked ?25...It looks like silver but only IDs 45/55 on the atpro?
No gold but got a gold platted ring:(
I was about to dig up that sovereign but it started to rain hard lol maybe next time.

Took the Etrac to the racecourse for 4/5 hours and dug some deep iron lol
Heres the silver for the week.28 bits $28

Thanks MK its a awesome site with no modern rubbish so anything that's not iron is normally pretty good also it private land so its nice and peaceful with no watches lol
I didn't find anything there this weekend ..all that silver came from a lot of different parks and sites.

Nice work mate, the E-trac certainly seems to be working well for you.
Having read up on the origins of the snake rings, I see that they were extremely fashionable in the 1920's- early 30's, coinciding with the popularity of anything Egyptian at the time.
From that, I'm guessing yours will be from around that era too.....nice.

Thanks for the info #8 .The E trac is pretty cool but when it looks like rain I take the ATpro..50/50 this week. I have read that the e trac isn't very good on gold.. it should have no problem on a sov should it?

What do you guys think...925 or 375...silver or white gold? reads in the 40/50s

Looks like 375 to me.

I also found a silver snake ring a while ago (can't find it!) so its good to know of its potential history in NZ.

This is something on my list that I thought I would never get.
I had been hunting for a 2 hours got a few silver coins so I was happy. Walking back to my car got a huge signal like a can but seemed a bit sweeter sound so I dug it up. pulled the first bit out of the hole a thought it was the bottom of a can then the next bit and I knew it was a watch.. all together 6 bits of silver pocket watch
Stoked to find it but its in pretty bad shape:(
My biggest silver to date :) inscribed W.Dagg 1905 with hallmarks all over it

Good old ATPRO.... I have the ATPRO and Latch has the E-trac. Usually we find about the same but he does seem to avoid the bottle caps a bit better *8^)

Well done by the way, you certainly have done well with the hobby.

Hi guys I haven't posted in a while but have seen some sweet finds coming out of the ground from all of you.
I haven't been doing much MD lately ...been a bit slack.
found this sweet chain with hallmarks last night pretty stoked with it after seeing #8 one a while ago.

Nice one Jim.
Isn't it good when they mark each link so you can be sure of what you have.
