heres a couple of more pics of the badge thingy. i spent most of the night googling it too but came up with nuttin. the picture on the badge however is a pic of the main building it was all held in i think. i dont want to clean it up any more as i dont want to take the plating off. the clip on the back looks like it slides over something like the top of your pocket or maybe the ribbon on a military hat. very cool, i like mystries. mind you it could just be a super common trinket out of a weetbix box of the day lol.

went out for a wee hunt this arvo (in the rain and wind)and got a few crusty pennys and half pennys that ill clean up and date and 3.20 in spending and another crazy coin find. at first i thort it was a silver sixpence but it felt too lite. cleaned it up and whoo its a east german 1968 1 pfennig. these coins are all aluminium and were used frm 1948 to 1990. obviously the are no longer used as east germany dosnt exist any more. way cool!!

Try cloudy ammonia on those silvers. Ammonia is a mild base and won't damage the surface of the coin. I clean the dirt off with soap and water then soak it for a few minutes with a closed container, trying not to get a wiff of the smelly stuff. Often a few min is all you need.

I use this guide for cleaning coins:

Sweet find there Chrispy.....showed the missus your find and she's given me the hurry-up to go dig one for her!
I've got tomorrow off, so that's what I'll be trying to do..........great reason for a full days hunt, with a more than plausible excuse..........gotta be a win-win I reckon.

You have a very nice ring Crispy, and I mean that in the nicest possible way. It is getting so expensive to take the car out anywhere at the moment, bloooody price of gas.

Imagine the poor lady who lost that. Hopefully those insurance leeches paid on the claim
