Wow been trying hard to keep up with all you other guys and ya cool finds...so yesterday Karl drove down from chch and we hit a few area's and wahlah I managed to find a small but nice GOLD heart complete with a wee ruby...and today after watching Karl suck all the silvers out of the ground with his etrac, I finally managed to find one (after some abuse at the silver gods) and it was a beauty. It's a 1891 Jubilee silver florin and reasonable scarce from what I read. Sharp!

So thanks Karl for coming down and putting up with my cooking and bullshit hahaa hopefully we can squeeze another hunt in before you fly back to live in Hawaii.

Nice gold Dan.
Nice florin too. I think that is the version that came next after the
1871 Gothic one I found last weekend.
As Shane might say - Were rolling up to Sovereigns. Oh yeah.

We are rolling up to sovereigns, oh yeah. They have been found before but at the moment we all wait to see who can crack one this year (hope its me first).
Great finds Madsonic. Cant believe the range of treasures we are all finding lately. They just get better all the time. You seem to have a habit of finding GOLD relics, sure beats the loveheart knecklace i found yesterday. That florin is a doozy, nice one.

Dan, I had a GREAT time.... and your cooking rocks!

Here is a sample of what I found while hunting with madsonicboating..

Some silvers, and a cool 1857 token/penny.

Hmm. I just need to figure out how to post photos again..

Great bunch of silvers there Pacifictreasurehunt. Penny tokens are cool. I found one, a 1854, sitting on someones driveway and it had been struck hard by a mower.

hey guys well I had an interesting weekend lol to say the least but I managed some time to go check out a new place that is just some foundations left from circa 1850's sod cottage...am very excited after looking at it and doing an hours hunting I only found one coin 1877 penny, a cool snake belt buckle and an old ad large musket ball...also found where the dump or A dump has been so will be heading back over time to clear and dig and hopefully find some cool and interesting old relics of our fore fathers

and some pics of past hunts too..been finding a bit but not many silvers

Good stuff. I too like the belt buckle. You certainly have a good town etc for historic relic/coin hunting. I went to Temuka last week for a funeral but didnt get enough time to hunt unfortunately.
