Fabulous, I got my F-Pointer today. The kids thought it was bloooody funny poking it into my gob to check out my gold crowns. At least if I don't have much luck with it, at least I know that I can get it to sound off on gold anytime.

I ended up working overnight so it was nice to have the day off and get my package in the mail. Kids are disgusted as they are waiting to get their letters to say what classes they are in this year.

I've been air testing it on different bits and pieces and then stuff in the ground including my test bed and things seems to be OK. Just have to get out in the field now, especially my park. Dig up that hole again. I'm not letting what ever it is, escape my clutches.

Thanks for the prompt service Roger.

After my Pro-pointer deciding to false pretty much every time I used it I decided to pull the sucker apart and have a look.
First thing, remove the rubber button or otherwise as I found out the hard way you can rip the switch apart, luckily I found all the very small pieces and it clipped back together. There is a small switch next to an IC and I wasn't sure if it was for reset or calibration so I fiddled with it anyways. When I put the pcb back in (make sure it is aligned with the pcb tracks) I gently pulled the coil wires up along the PCB. I'm not sure if it was that little switch or straightening of the coil wires but either way it's going great again.

Good on ya for having the cojones to have a go.

I was having a scratch in the park today and came to the conclusion that, if I didn't have a pro-pointer, I wouldn't bother going out. They just save so much work.

Pleased to hear it's going okay.

Absolutely, mine gets a thrashing so I wouldn't hesitate buying another one. They aren't perfect but they are pretty darn close!
