Went out yesterday evening and found a couple of interesting things, then stayed up way to late trying to figure out what they were. Bad in that because the two florins were in the same hole I gouged one of them badly having pinpointed the other. Found two in one hole as well when i went up to spirits bay, one was an australian 1957. Found three other florins within a meter around but they werent silvers. Shane

Did a bit of a search on the internet which said: "Mounted to the Uniforms shoulder Straps to indicate rank. The “pip” or rank indicator for Officers is based on the Star of the Military Division of the Most Honorable Order of the Bath. Three Joined as One: It refers to the union of England, Scotland and Ireland to become the United Kingdom." I believe it is from WW2 because it has parachutes instead of crowns. Anyway, it was a nice to find something besides 1 and 2 cents once in a while. rgmcbrid attached the following image(s):

Although deep ones can be a pain too without a pinpointer. Spending 5 to 10 minutes on a hole for 1 or 2 cents isn't much fun. :)

Then I lost it in my shack somewhere and couldn’t find it. I hunted everywhere. I thought I might have accidently thrown it in my tub of one and two cents and spent about an hour sifting through the top of the heap. I found a 1970’s British half penny and some other odds and ends mixed in but no half farthing. Then yesterday I was vacuuming and heard something banging around in the brush and I was excited to find the half farthing all over again!
