On the road for work. I had researched tonight's town domain and was expecting to have a pocket full of sovereigns and silver by the time I got the call to pick the crew up from the pub.
I was using a head light a investigating some old looking trees.
First few coins were a 1c,2c and a $1 and a lot of pull tabs.
it was a bit spooky under the trees so I moved towards a floodlit playground and had a go there.
Most EPIC play ground ever!
Kids round here must be rich and use cash! Bracelet is junk heavy but no hallmarks.

Back in the town of the EPIC play ground. I headed back to the EPIC play ground to try working it from the other direction unfortunately the playground was occupied by kids watching the footy practice. Skirting the domain I headed to the next psrk I had scoped out online. Unfortunately there was a plaque announcing someone had done something historical there once, being a person who is respectful of our tipuna and forefathers I moved on to park number 3.
Finally arriving at park number 3 I found it pretty trashy so put my custom settings to" $1 $2 &silver please". I spent about an 1/2 hour there and got another knuckle bone for the set and a few spendies but no silver.

Managed to wrestle a few more spendies from the EPIC play ground tonight before facing my fear of scary old trees and shadows to check out the old domain by headlamp. The domain was a total waste of time only getting a 1974 2c, 2 nice stainless steel buckles and a cast wotsit that I can't identify.

As I tried to work last week.. mickeys silver finds niggled away in my mind as I tried to recall all the bushmans Whare and timber pitsaws I knew of from a child hood spent in the waitaks.
Suddenly I remembered the best one we ever found dug into a bank above a stream, I immediately ditched work grabbed my detector and some food etc and I was off. A short bush bash and there it was where I remembered it.
Amazingly it still remains untouched without any beer bottles and the other junk that is all over the well known spots.
A thorough search and nothing at all to be found only the bent nail the old fulla had pushed into the clay bank to hang his billy or pikau up on. I put the nail back and after searching for a cache by every land mark I gave up, and trekked back to the car which thankfully hadn't been broken into.
After washing my gear down with the anti kauri die back spray I meandered back via a few beaches but the results as shown below were uninspiring.
On spot was loaded with airgun pellets.
And Guooi appears to be a ripoff brand copycating Gucci.

Got to try these places..I used to live in the Waitakeres in Oratia, as a kid in used to wonder around the bush and came across little deserted camps up the Oratia stream, even seen band saws still stuck in logs and abandoned...Good old days

How do I tell if its copper or bronze it feels heavy for its size and I can't bend it. I have given it a gentle rub and although it had markings once they are quite unreadable. Its not perfectly round either but that could be damage.

Interesting find, looks to be a difficult one to i.d. Hard to tell if its copper or bronze without cutting into it ! Probably copper.
Keep rubbing it with your fingers and maybe some detail may begin to appear after time.

Been busy detecting in my spare time and had been finding the usual range of stuff so hadn't bothered posting.
Got the Irish luck charm from deep under some tree roots on tuesday night- its Mojo obviously works because the place I tried today offered up a 6.5gram 9ct rose gold charm bracelet.
Pretty stoked with that.
