Quick blat at a couple of parks after the rain.
First toy car a 1997 Mattel splitvision.
Also found a kids bracelet and earring that I gave to some kids that were following me around.
Pretty sure chain is junk but giving it a vinegar soak to make sure.

At a beach found this pocket spill.
Took this photo then on rechecking the hole with the xpointer it found a few more shy coins hiding in the side wall of the hole for a total of 15 coins $4.20 from the one hole.

Back at pocket spill beach today trying out the new scoop found this locket.
Pretty sure its junk or pewter as it seems to have been die cast and has remains of yellow metallic plating in places.
It was damn exciting for a second when I first saw it in the scoop.

Down in Wellington on business so thought I'd have a swing.
Tried a few spots but ended up at a beach.
Lead head nail.
A sinker that fooled me for a moment that id found a musket ball.
Scrap lead.
Rusty 20c
1962 Florin.
Some metal bits that might be bits of a brooch.
A probily junk bracelet.
A couple of gas cartridges.

The iron sand under the surface caused me a few problems but I managed.
Local kids were polite and friendly and one of them actually found the florin when I let them each have a quick go with the ace350 seeing as they asked nicely. I offered them to keep it but they said that I should have it.

Had 2hours to kill in th city so gave a Waitemata harbour beach that often sees metal detectors a go.
I hadn't tried it before as I thought it would only have fresh drops and they would be quickly snaffled up by the regular e-trac/CTX 3030 crew.
Started by the toilet block and found a $1.80 pocket spill encouraged by this I then got the eyeball plastic gold US dollar.
Next up and deep was the 1976 aussie 20c that really made my day as it is in good nick and had obviously been there a long time.
The brass tap handle and a few more spendable coins rounded out the 2 hours nicely.
As I still dig all signals I only just got past the toilet block so there's still beach for another day.
On the downside my headphones have died, I had repaired the volume switch once already but now I think its terminal..

Too advantage of the low tide and heavy rain to have a go at a Waitemata harbour beach that's popular with metal detectors.
Gold remains elusive....
I also found a little brass disc stamped "R.I.S.C 1963"or 67 or something like that. I put it in my jeans pocket to keep it safe but when i got home it was gone.
Aslo picked up that nasty bit of glass for safe disposal

One of the best ideologys I came across for finding old gold and jewelry is to find what beaches where popular say around the 1900's, the idea is people where not big on swimming so they stuck to smaller calmer beaches. With that in mind most people go to beaches with waves now. So it was suggested that if you want new jewelry and or coins you should head to a more popular beach, if your after older stuff head to a calmer beach that was popular but is not any more.

Found the website that suggested it I think Here

Another Waitemata harbour beach, a few coins some lead and a ring.
The ring has no hallmarks but I like it anyway. Will look good in the display case.

Couple of days off work so spent the time detecting.
A few playgrounds and a few beaches. Got a enough spendies to pay for parking and gas.
Found a teaspoon at the beach hallmarked silver and everything but after googling I discovered the truth about F WHITEHOUSE EVERWHITE SILVER. Shame on you Mr Whitehouse...
Anyway amongst the usual junk I came across what I think is a milk token it crumbled a little bit unfortunately when I tried to clean it up.

Rest of the junk..
Cats bell?
Gold-colored heart earing.
Stg silver earing
Copper colored ring with traces of gold plating
1c with lawnmower damage.

Yep, milk token. They were predominantly plastic when I started pounding the pavements as a milk-boy in the mid-late seventies, but we used to still get the odd ali one come through. Lost count of the pairs of Pumas I burnt through, and don't even want to think how many miles I clocked up in four years!!
