Brilliant research mickey, I was just looking up a bit of info on the net and had it scribbled down to post, and you have beaten me to it. My info would have been a bit lacking in real facts though.
Well she certainly is an oldie just beaten
my oldest coin by at least 150 years. Happy happy joy joy.
Thanks very much for your research.

hi iggy, looks like you've found a very olde coin, well done man.
i don't know about the word 'research',
it's all copy & paste from the internet, no more no less.
but damn me if it ain't that emperor, the two characters 12o'clock / 6o'clock.
i think there are some numismatic web sites you can send scans to to get a 'profi' opinion on such matters.
don't know if they're free or if one has to be a member. could someone suggest a link?
anyway, great find amigo.

gday iggy,
good finds lately fella, all-power, keep it up.

not sure that i understand the question, who rulz?
i'll have a stab at it anyway.

[audio] the fight of the century
prance forward, you (pet), miss goat and master kuni pig.
[audio] crowd cheering

pet milks goat,
kuni sniffs pet,
goat kicks kuni,
pet tends to kuni wounds.
kuni gets carried away and eats pet for no reason at all. (sorry pet, you're out)
raging goat butts kuni to death. (sorry kuni, you're out)
goat wins.

Hello and welcome. Hunt #31 consists of a pretty scruffy bunch of coins from same spot as #29 (but hey I'll take them, they are round after all).
Florins 1961 & 48, 1967 10 - One Shilling, 2 X 1933 Sixpence, 1943 3p, Half Pennies Aus 1920 & 1939 NZ 194? & 19??,
Pennies UK 1919 1930 1913 ???? Aus 1919 NZ 1945, Button anchor design, couple of shell casings, two odd ball things.

NO RINGS to speak of yet. I am wondering if my signature (I don't expect to get many rings) has something to do with it, cause I am certainly digging my fair share of pull tabs and foil.
Positive thoughts might be needed (I did note a fellow member on a quest to find the elusive gold sov has now included a space for the mighty coin in his signature and rightly so).

Happy hunting Iggy.

Hi guys, Had a very enjoyable hunt #32 with #8 a few days ago which goes as follows..........

Morning- UK Pennies 1938 Half, 1927 Half, 1920 Penny, 1946 NZ Penny, 1954 3p, postal tag,
bell, half a pair fire tongs (I think), etc etc and one very poor condition Coronation medal
Queen Elizabeth 12 May 1937 one side George V1 crowned 12 May 1937 the other. She is pretty rough and can only make out parts of words/letters but with the help of the www. managed to ID it.

Afternoon- Same spot as the old Chinese coin.........
Not much to report here for me, #8 had more luck. I was buggering around too much looking for another old as coin, which wasn't to be.
1 x broken pocket watch, 3 X $2 1 X old 50 cent and a heap of junk.

Still good fun though.
Iggy.

strange that the penny and half penny are well 'crisp' and the gilded medallion gnawed at,
different base metals i know, buggr, but good find that medallion mate.
excuse the stupid Q, but what's that brass handle thing with the hook at the top of pic-1, ?
some kind of window catch thing? or?
all the best, happy hunting.

Hey Iggy,
Was great to spend some time hunting with you last weekend. As you can see, Dunedin's bush is full of potential for some amazing finds...aka, like the stuff Tonznz gets.
I scored a couple of cool finds from the afternoon hunt but it was hard going with all the junk around. The best of it was an NZ threepence, a brass thimble in good nic and a nice old decorative emamel button, probably 1920's.
Really looking forward to catching up again sometime...either up here or down there. Excellent stuff.

Thanks Mickey I think it is half a fire tong? not sure what was covering the main steel shaft though, if it was anything to do with the fire it would of needed to be fire proof. #8 thought possibly candle snuffer of some type.

Cheers Iggy
