I have permission to hunt on a local school playing field. I obtained this permission around a year ago and have searched there probably around ten or twelve times, never with huge success but it always produces a silver for me. The biggest silver from it has been a florin but it has also given up many shillings and six or seven rings, as well as heaps of spendable cash. No great returns but its very near home and handy.

I had a call from the groundsman yesterday requesting my help. Some nice chap had been having fun burying kitchen forks of all things just below the grass surface, prongs up, to somehow cause damage to any unsuspecting rugby player who happens to be sliding over them. These have only been found on the two rugby pitches there, but in sufficient numbers to suspect some weird malicious intent. A recent game was called off while the area was searched eyes only (and thereby locating a couple more!) but they are of course worried about those they couldnt find. If of course there are any.

I said I would help of course and intend to have a look this Saturday, but should anybody want to join me it would of course be a great help as well as a great advert for our hobby to see a few like minded helpers. And of course, you could well hit a silver or two if you're lucky.

If you feel you can help, give me a ring or text 0220769026. It is a fair way out (Rangiora) but who knows what 's lying there ready to find?

I'm keen, but would probably have to score a ride out to Rangiora with someone.

Thats great lads, thanks so much for the help. The caretaker is going to be hovering around and will be thrilled to see a few guys helping out. I hope you find something as well to justify your efforts.

Hopefully it stays out of the news, to discourage copycat behaviour. But if it does make the news, it will be positive PR for us.

Keen to tag along too :)

Definitely a great chance to show the community that we aren't just out to wreck playing surfaces / parks etc.

Media coverage, or at the least a few pics and a story sent in, could work for the better of our hobby.

When did they keep bad things off the news that could influence others? .. Errr never !
(eg: My #1 hate : Tagging - Look at all the coverage that's had on the news,
and how the little f#$%ers revel in it - seeing their tags on the news.)
Check out my BLOG : Its where i post my finds :D
