thats some nice gold you are getting up there matt.

the waka is where i got the gold bug i think. my uncle used to take us in there when i was younger.

deep creek area has some nice gold. have you read the huge volume on the waka? there's 1 huge book plus half a 2nd one. hundreds of pages. awesome pics make it. those wing dams in the waka itself and the dewatering of the riverbed must have seemed an impossible task for back then. even today it would be a feat to do.

have you tried around old stumps of dams? always a good spot to try if no one has beat you to it and cleaned up fully.

keep it up.

RIGHT- time to update you lot on my adventures. My recent silence does not mean that im finding so much gold that its embarrassing.
The opposite is actually true. I spent 2 full days working the spot where I had got the last nuggets and came away with just 3.3g. I had my brother with me so we split the proceeds and both ended up with nothing lol. I have included a photo of our workings. We have sifted through everything around the large boulder on the left up to the white boulder upstream behind my brother. Hes not standig on bedrock yet. Its another 2 feet down. There is still gold there but there is about 4-6 foot of gravel and boulders set in clay on top of it that slows us down way too much to make it worthwile. Also added a photo of a tree we found. The gold ranged between .2 and .7g

wow that tree is impressive.

the gold will prob be in the clay not far from bedrock. have you actually sited any bedrock?

could be down too far. usually the biggest boulders are the best bet to start with. follow them down and see if its sitting on another level of boulders or the bedrock. also check the gold content as you go. do you have a sluice box? makes it easier to see the fines in each layer.

if you can find bedrock i reckon it would be worth some ground sluicing by using the water to move some overburden and get down lower. i usually pull a few big rocks out now and then and esp at the end of the day so it can work its magic overnight. you may as well take advantage of any help nature can give you.

Simon- We hgave found the bedrock under all of that area I outlined above. We only got gold in the lowermost portion of the clay bound gravels. Where my bro is standing the bedrock was as deep as I am. About 6 foot. Had to winch the odd boulder too. You are right The large boulder on the left is sitting on the bedrock. I did test pans on numerous occasions and never got a speck. The gold here is just too coarse most of it just sits on the bottom.

Well the gold has been a bit reluctant to respond to my advances lately. Had one trip out about a week back and only got 2 grams for about 8 hours. Tried a new creek on that trip where i got 3 bits for half a gram and the rest came from ground Ive beaten to death in the past.

Went for a huntin/detecting trip with the old man and sister yesterday. We had seen quite a few goats there in the past but it was not to be this time. I did manage to find a tiny 0.22g piece of gold in one of the strerams as a consolation prize. The creek has historically produced nuggets to 12oz and has the best bedrock I have encountered, however despite me detecting almost its entire lenght thats all I got.

And thats the update for this time around...

Oh and Merry belated Christrmas to you all

Hi all;
hell the weather has been hot and dry,
been up the river for the past three days,using me hookha for some sniping have managed only about 4.5 grams, dispite a great deal of effort;
Caught up with Carl (Ellement 11) who is doing very well up his claim in deep creek,
Heading back for the weekend to finish off a spot that came good before me gear rattled apart,
Take care

G'Day,
I am new on this NZ forum & am arriving in NZ early January 20013 seeking investors.

Anyone interested in Investing in a prospecting deal in the northern hemisphere for these rare very valuable nuggets, that the Chinese will pay $30,000 each for or up too $100,000 for a Matched set or pair each around 1 oz.
The nugget on the Lower side of the picture that looks like a praying mantis mandible or front leg.

Its a Virgin Gold Field eg %99 never had a metal detector on it & there are a lot of crystalline Gold 24k nuggets in this region

I am looking for a small genuinely serious Experienced group of Like Minded investors say four (4) willing to spend U.S.A$25k Each on a six week Tour of these Rich Gold fields.

Staying in a Camper Van & sometimes camping in the field once we locate Patches of nuggets & cleaning them out.
This location is very capable of producing per person a 1KG + + of gold in 3-4 weeks.

Experienced Outdoors people *Only* as this is a Wilderness location and parts are isolated that WE will hike into & some steep Hiking maybe involved to seek another Lot of large Placer nuggets.
You will need a high level of Fitness to maintain the pace to hike into locations & out again each day.

Brown Bears a direct cousin of the Grizzly Bear are located in this region NO firearms permitted :

A venomous species of Adder also known to frequent this location.
Salmon in the creeks and streams Trout etc lots of Elk and Deer.

I have checked this area reasonably well in 2011 and spent 3 months researching old sites where Thousands & Thousands of oz's of gold was produced by hand from streams and small mines in the 1800's.

This venture will commence from the 1st week of June 2013 .

Serious Only Thank you enquiries.

Methinks this is a load of rubbish. The only mine operating in Japan is the Hishikari mine. All the others have been closed down due to being mined out. This link gives some info

I would steer away from this con.
