This time I came away with 5.6g which I found with the aid of my brother. My detcting was directly responsible for 4.6g of that and we sniped the remaining gram together.

A great result.
It must be so cool to live near Gold and be able to just go get it
when the mood strikes. :-)

The one that got away is allways the big one!!!! I just got back from an overnighter to a new area. The first day was a waste of time then tried a different river and got 5.1 grams in 4 hours including a 2.6 gram bit.

Gday Matt, Nice finds. You are doing well. The Waka is getting a hiding from you guys.
X-terra Steve: Imagine what else is going to be in that crevice when you go back & smash it open. I am sure you will be rewarded.

Good luck out there

JW :)

Well returned to the spot where I got the last lot and after a very slow start wound up with this lot. 7.2grams total, biggest 1.9g. Was another overnight trip started at about 10am on day one and only got 1.7ish grams for the whole day. The second day started with a couple of un-productive hours and then I hit a good patch. Finished up at 1pm that day. Spent a total of 12 hours in the river.

Hi all,
good to see ya set up element nice,
yep thoese boulders can be deadly, they dont call them The Silent Asassin for for nothing!
Had a day to remember for all the wrong reasons on Saturday, got me hookha set up all running sweet for about three hours before the air supply came to a end.
The bloody motor and compressor came free from the ally pontoons and ended up on the bottom for the river!!,
How the hell the holding pin came out im stuffed if I know,
After getting me thoughts together I was carrying the now drowned motor back i arsed up on the slippery rocks, talk about testing!!!
Any way apart from all the drama it was a ripper of a day,
Rain set in early Sunday morning so headed home to strip me gear
Ended up with 1.8 grams for three hours subsurface,
Nice finds Matt, keep up the posts
Steve

hay steve sounds like you had a day like us too.brook came down about 11am and we set the winch up to move the biggest boulder moved it about half a meter then we here a crack and thestop that was tied to the tree conected to the turfor unit snaped and went flying getting brook on yhe top of his head knocking his hat of as it flew passed(i was filming it ) then we dredged under it and as john and went to move another boulder it sliped and cruched his thumb he had to hospital to get it stiched up was pretty bad.we got 4.5grams for the efort we are going to move up above them as they are to deadly lol.did you get the motor running again?
