Clarify your adverts, as I said, then no one would have a problem with people paying too much for your gold.

I once had a cousin visit me and offer me outrageous prices for my wee bottle of gold flakes that I had wrestled from central otago streams over many days. I probably had $50 gold in the bottle. He offered me $200. I said no because he annoyed me. So people will pay more for stuff than its worth. But people should have the facts clearly in front of them. And you are not doing that at present.

instead of ".156 grams"

say ".156 of a gram"

Don't use the word "grams" that's misleading.

If you don't want to change at all the formula that is proving so good for you then expect criticism. People on this forum are pretty straight up. You should listen to advice on this. And people on this forum are not competitors, that's just silly.

well all this nonsense has convinced me there are only a few ppl that can really be trusted in life, the rest simply want to make bucks by any means. I guess that's gold mining for you, always has, and always will have its share of rogues, lol. Guess the next posting on trademe we see will be selling gold by the bakers oz with a picture of a gold bar included, why not as long as its described that way, then it must be OK, :).

Bloody hell guys this guy(scorpio) isnt doing anything wrong. He sells small nuggets an takes good photos of them to show their detail and clearly states thir weight. He says 0.100grams and inded virtually anyone I know would say zero point five GRAMS. Zero point five GRAM just sounds silly. Furthermore he starts his auctions at $1 reserve which is absolutely the best way of letting the market decide on the right price. I guess anyone who takes offence to his listings and success is a jealous so and so.

So cut the poor guy some slack and be happy for him, if anything perhaps we should thank him for his sales as he is clearly tapping into a customer base that has been previously unknown (or it seems that way as people including me have always sold multi gram lots).

Good on ya scorpio!
And now....On sandy beaches and muddy soil, rings and coins await my coil!

i had to try this out for myself, lol as an exsperiment i think if someone is willing to pay $10-$50 for .100 well good on them they know its not 100 grams as $10-$50 would be far off, my point is people know there buying .100 gram my assumption is they just dont know how big .100 looks. so kinda a grey area for me im sure they will cotton on soon and not be so silly. but you cant afford to sit back anf let someone else get rich in this economy, i say jump on the train and enjoy the ride while it lasts lol

Already looking like you're already making a nice profit on the auction - looks like the new way to sell gold! :P

Even with the ruler there for scale people are still bidding - seems a legit way to sell gold to me. Was considering getting on the band wagon myself, but even the small bits I love too much ;)

I wonder if people might be bidding it up as it's quite a novel gift for Xmas?!

I'm really not sure myself...

Just realised Goldstalker's Trade Me listing photo isn't exactly what's being bidden on "picture shown is an example of the product" and "i will select 0.350 grams of gold for the winner". At a brief glance I thought the picture showing the gold winner will get.

Guess the feedback is the one to watch to see if people are happy or not, but I guess most people will make same mistake as me at quick glance.

I think its just a untapped market. thank you for the support :D Got lots more to come :D got 10 grams of Alaska Chicken Claim Gold next. (all small stuff) However some feedback from people so far seems to be mainly "thank you now i have my own little gold nuggets now" and that sorta stuff... so might give more of you ideas.

Awesome goldstalker that gold worth around $23-24 and auctions already at over $20 in a few hours so might get a good amount for it :)
Im hoping to have these auctions keep going for a while.

Also if anyone does want to sell there NZ gold at some good prices talk to me if your interested in selling to the U.S.A :) (thinking anther customer base untouched)

Hey Scorpio

After this I will truly shut up, but when you joined you said how you would like to come south and work on ppl's claims if you could. How do we know that you can be trusted ?, given the small stretch of your advertising/marketing campaign on trademe. Sorry but I'm one of those southern blokes who likes to deal on a handshake and trust.

goldstalkers listing is probably more misleading then scorpios. i guess hes done the right thing by having a ruler next to the gold but then i see by the question at the bottom that he does ot know what weight is in the photo.
with the statement he makes on the auction "picture shown is an example of the product" you would expect that it would be the correct weight and size of pile you would recieve but this dosent seem to be the case.
I think it is fair enough to use a generic photo for listings of small amounts like this as taking individual photos every auction would be time consuming, BUT the generic photo should have a pile that represents the weight and size of the gold you will reicieve.
Also hasnt looked at the other suggestions on this thread to the wording he should use .350 of a gram instead of .350grams wheres the grams? there is not even a single gram for sale, very misleading buyer beware

golddigger are you saying because scorpio is selling gold like this on trademe, and in no way is he being dishonest. you think now hes not trust worthy and some sort of theif....... your an idiot full stop in no way does this make him a theif or un trust worthy his auctions start at $1 so if people could buy for a 10th of a gram for $1. people are deciding what they want to pay. i think you need to get a life and stop being a jelous idiot......

Gold Stalker, I don't recall calling anyone a thief, but thanks for answering on his/her behalf, and do use spell checker, your comments are hard to read.

the dishonest part about the auctions is the way your photos represent what you are selling, to help explain this to the simple minded folks on here instead of gold we will use cars as an example
your trademe auction would be titled "car for sale"
you are bidding on a car
for the winner i will select one car
photo is just an example
then you have a photo of a yard lot of cars this includes big cars little cars old cars new cars etc
or even a photo of a single nice new looking car

Now i bet youd be pretty farked off if you ended up with a beat up old mini blowing smoke everywhere wouldnt you?
if you recieved it you would be jumping up and down wanting a refund.
I think what you guys are doing is on the right track but you are not selling what your photos show this being misleading making you fraudsters and thieves, i guess you think its alright though because its only $20 or $30.

I dont want to argue with any of you So im not going to respond to some of the previous posts. However lets leave it till the feedback comes in cause they will be a good idea on how the public is feeling with this. From the messages ive got so far people and happy to pay for a small amount of their own gold.

golddigger what do you mean how can i be trusted ? I think im a very honest person (maybe i didnt think to use a ruler to show the small sizes) but no bad intentions. Also ive "shaked hands" with the people who came to collect who were very happy :) I mean golddigger you asked me a question on my auction and i think i was very honest answering it. (just realized your part of the forum lol)

*Hi There Can you please clarify how much 0.1 grams is? Its 1 tenth of a gram, right. and there are 31.1 grams to the troy ounce, is that correct? golddigger7 (68 ) 4:52 pm, Tue 23 Oct
Yes 0.1g or 0.100g (however you look at it) is 1 tenth of a gram and Yes 31.1 grams in a troy ounce. Your on to it :) Cheers 4:56 pm, Tue 23 Oct *

Lets drop all the arguing please and just do constructive feedback :)
