its bloody outrageous! you dont even know what the piece will look like. perhaps they think its 100 grams as the title is a bit ambiguous.

When i said the above i meant its outrageous that people will pay these sums for nuggets, not that the listing itself was outrageous.

That's crazy! I can't believe how much people are buying these sub-gram nuggets for?!? And no-one's complaining? Very interesting!

Well looks like i'll be flooding trademe with small nuggets and selling them induvidually as soon as i get them. Im amazed at what people are paying but I guess as long as the buyer is happy then go for it.

I think these bidders do not realise just how small these nuggets are, and are very bad at maths.

Although you list the weight correctly - to protect your Trade Me reputation - I'd be putting a coin beside the nuggets in the photos to give them an idea of scale.

You might not be able to see the nugget next to a coin! :P

See im selling gold from Alaska so maybe that's why they are paying more (watching gold rush shows) However with your NZ gold i would take it to U.S they will pay big $$ for it... they pay more for AUS gold.... If you go any and want to me to try sell it to the U.S message me :D

What Oroplata said makes sense.

I would definately put a coin beside the nugget to give a sense of proportion.

Also in order to be as clear as possible I would have said for instance on that first listing in this thread ".1 of a gram" and I would added in brackets ( approximately 1.5 grains) " .......instead of ".100 grams" Why use the word "grams" ? Its not "grams" is it? It's .1 of a gram. One gram not grams. Make it clearer. Particularly when you are getting considerablely more than the nuggets are worth. Unless you don't really care since your listings are "technically" correct. The trademe listings are like the listings of a wide Boy. Del Boy trotter would have approved.

As for someone here giving you gold to on sell to the US. What are the chances.

I would probley leave them as they are. Some of the auctions that have sold do have a ruler next to them to give people an idea. However these ones right now don't. (i understand what you mean with the weights. However most people would prefer to deal in just grams than grains, plus i feel grains misleads people). Either way you want to look at it . i clearly say photos are enlarged, gold is sold by the weight not photo, and i say twice what the size is. (as i said people have come around to collect and no problems what so ever and also the ones i sent in the mail have given good feedback) I do says its grams as i wouldn't say .100 gram i would say .100 grams (however could be personal preference as grams sounds normal to me over gram unless it was a whole number) Plus i only started the auctions at $1 ...... not my fault they going insane prices lol......

The chances? well its 100% going to sell in the U.S and if nice single nuggets you can get 2x the price or more. (however im just making the offer if anyone was interested to talk about selling to the U.S) just a offer.

LOL you guys are just seeing the last of the small stuff. The bigger stuff had a ruler next to it and all sold fine with no problems, Also im not being dodgy i state clearing if they actually read the auction they want to put money on that "You are bidding on .100 grams from that pile, chosen at random. "

Put it this way i feel im not being dodgy i have CLEARLY SAID EVERYTHING and they should be able to make a informed decision from that... its up to them if they want to keep bidding. And the point you guys keep missing is PEOPLE HAVE PAID AND GOT THEM AND ARE HAPPY....

I hope "no one has complained" doesn't become the standard for selling stuff in nz. That would be pretty low.

What one punter said in one of your auctions is interesting:

".....What is a weight of each bid? one hundred grams or one tenth of gram? kkk777 (21 ) 10:21 am, Mon 22 Oct

HI there, As title and auction say **WEIGHT .100 GRAMS** (one tenth of a gram) Cheers 10:47 am, Mon 22 Oct "

...... so my point is your adverts are not clear. Why not clarify your advertising? You have done so yourself in one of your answers to a punter so why not do that in all your listings?

ie. you should list as Weight .100 gram (one tenth of a gram) .. not too hard eh? Its your own words.

If no ones complained id say it means your doing something right. :) Ok i understand what you are saying about the weight. However i am just listing them as the weights. Also these "Current" auctions are for .100g (as it measures on my scales) Not a worded way of saying it. Also these "current" auctions are the only .100g ones i have done. If you look at the previous ones which just sold they were single nuggets or a couple that weight .156 or .124 Not one tenth of a gram. So for me to keep it simple listings lots of single nuggets and doubles and .100 lots ill just keep it in the weight i am most conformable to use. Also anyone can ask a question as you show right there and i do explain it in both forms :)
Also most of my Future listing wont be for .100g lots (one tenth of a gram) they will be .124g or .156g or .186g or .419 .. you get the idea, Also im a number person so i like to see numbers :D

im sure if the rest of us cold get those prices for our gold we wudnt be complaining lol. i put that link up as a "whoa look at what people are paying for gold" not " that dudes scamming people". Im sure if people felt ripped off they would say so or negative feedback would be placed on TM.
