Thought I'd add a pic of the scratched date, What do ya reckon? I'm leaning to 10 but maybe 20 or 70???

Found with a F4 bout 5" deep, Target ID was 52-53

wow! What a ring. That would be pride of any collection! well done. Isn't that the date on it. It says "19" on one side. Does it have numbers on the other side?

Nice find,
Very nice indeed,
The only thing with USA School rings, that you can easy find the owner, there are several tracking sites from USA for that/

Sure, it is all up to you, if you want to part with the ring ;-) most likely not. but you can always locate the owner and give them a call :-)

Great find indeed. A note of caution however in basing the value on the sales price; in the states school ring companies tend to charge outrageous prices because a lot of students feel like they just have to have one to commemorate ‘the greatest years of their lives’ and because they are personalized the resale value is low. But thats not to say that I am not jealous :)

Well I've come down from the dizzying heights of a gold induced high! Cheers for all the comments, Expat didnt you say i'd find something crazy on my first real go at it!! Well I certainly feel like the tiniest bugger on the planet! Tonznz, yeah on one side is a 19 the other side has been scraped right on the date, could be 10,20 or 70. 99% sure I didn't scratch it as it is dull & would be bright if fresh, maybe someone else long ago came close to finding it? Chucked it on the kitchen scales 20g.
Apart from that wicked find the rest of my night was really crap Poohbear & Crispy had a handfull of coins at the end of the night & I had $3 & a pocket full of rubbish, definitely have a lot to learn.

Here is a tip for you for next time; watch where Poohbear is going (he likes to go in straight lines and grid search) and cut right in front of him. Pretty much guaranteed to find something good. Works for me just about every time. Be sure and show it to him and point out exactly where you got. If he looks upset suggest that if he went a little faster he would have found it. Then show it to him again. Good times.

So the rest of your night was crap eh Adam? Well my heart bleeds. ;-)
I did indeed say you would probably find something good that night and if you did I would be real p*ss*d off. Well you did and I am. Clearly a shrewd move on my part to turn down the chance of detecting with you three and return home......
12 grammes? Heck thats a beast of a ring!!
All joking aside I'm genuinely pleased for you. I'll by trying thta bit harder at Hagley this Saturday.

What was that saying? Something about it not being about the size, but what you do with it?

The little F2 detector that could.
