Went to a old park to day with NZpoohbear, oroplata and treasures we hunted for some time, right now I on a buzz of digging everything I found 3 slivers from Hagley park and 5 silvers this park and a Half sovereign
(oroplata opened it from its encasement of soil with his graceful fingers for me LOL)
This made me do a little dance and I did a flip as I saw the shiny gold coin
In saying that I have a bag full of diggings that are rubbish!!!!! but it also swobs dig 'em all

Sweet!

Although I am suddenly a lot less impressed with the six pence I found today...

What did it read?

Awesome Martin, you've certainly had a decent time with that machine recently.
At least while you're hunting over there, I have half a chance of some good finds here. ;-)
Well done, that would make my year. But then so would a florin at the moment. A solitary sixpence and some spends for me today.

My greatest fear is that when I die my wife will sell my collection for what I told her it cost me.

After seeing chris's text saying it was a 37 -_- on his F2, (the GB wont be 2 much different i guess),
I dunno if scanning his would increase my crap dug count,
or just push me further towards having a go at finding gold in its other more natural form sooner ;)

But ... Just incase you missed one in a hole with a couple half crowns, ill have to go for a look tomorrow now - lmao ;)

Yeah but what was that tiny little coin you found?

Is the half sov London or Melbourne mint? Knowing your luck, it's Perth.

I pulled out a 1944 shilling and 2 1940 3d's. One of the 3d's is in quite good condition PLUS has die cracks each side, so might see if it's worth more than melt value.

One other thing I found that turned out to be fairly cool was an old silver plated button - best condition button I've found yet even though it's go a dent in the front it.

"VR" with crown above makes it well over 100 years old. Haven't found any matching buttons on the interwebs yet. Made by Smith & Wright, Birmingham.

lol I find bottle tops are high range on my F2...37 and shallow is usually a new ish can tab

curse the physics that made gold and pull tabs a similar frequency!!!!

at least we're all making the world a cleaner place ;-)
