Hunter finds half Half sovereign

Is the half sov London or Melbourne mint? Knowing your luck, it's Perth. I pulled out a 1944 shilling and 2 1940 3d's. One of the 3d's is in quite good condition PLUS has die cracks each side, so might see if it's worth more than melt value. "VR" with crown above makes it well over 100 years old. Haven't found any matching buttons on the interwebs yet. Made by Smith & Wright, Birmingham. oroplata attached the following image(s):
