Well I'm a Dunedin person and thought I would join the forum. been suction dredging for 30 years with some success. Have a claim which is working well. have some grand kids so I'm probably at the age to be a gold miner just need a beard. Interested in this metal detecting lark may have to read more posts on this forum to learn more. But at the moment head under the water dredging when that other thing called work keeps me tied up. Beers and Cheers

Welcome! I'm the other way around....i've been metal detecting but want to go prospecting more often. Have been to quite a few rivers that are known to be gold producing but havnt had much luck. Plenty of good info on here though so enjoy! :)

I've had more success with dredging than metal detecting so far .. but it will only take one decent size nugget to turn that around (1 or 2 KG should do it).
