Over the xmas break I took the chance to try and get some of the money back that I'd spent getting my gold claim....After some negotiations I also managed to get my wife and son to come along to the claim, although there was some kicking and screaming when I unglued my sons hands off xbox....we got some gold and all had a good couple of days.
On my way home from gold mining I did wonder when the claim expires if the next generation of gold fossickers would in fact have the same privileges as us now or would our government relinquish the last bit of New Zealanders assets to offshore greed merchants for some nice backhanders and a few quick bucks.
Government departments like DOC are already doing the ground work for the sort of atrocities mentioned above, blocking claim holders every move to insure the assets are mainly still intact hence saving our resources for an economic plunder.
Let's hope our privileges even if they are somewhat limited carry on for at least 2 decades........
