http://www.noktadetectors.com/

I was looking through various websites as I do when I am not gold mining or picking my nose and came across this detector.

I see that no extravagant claims are made and it has interesting features - it is totally unproven and yet in my opinion might be well worth keeping an eye on it. To be quite honest I would love to know if anyone here in Kiwiland has heard of this company or better still seen one of its products.

The following is the claim made for one of the detectors produced by this company

I think that Kellyco may be the US agents for them.

These detectors are totally new to me and i am wondering if anyone on here has heard of them and if so are the reports good or bad? It would be nice to have a detector that no one else has got!...Im thinking and could well be stimulated into buying one...maybe on the philosophy that fools rush in where angels dare to tread!

If it does what it says on the tin one might be worth a punt-however if it doesnt you will be swinging the goldbug to get your money back!

The gps looks interesting tho...

Check out the THunting.com forum Graham ,one of the jokers called Hobbyist uses one.

I think most of the others on forum don't think much of them.

Thanks for that reference - I have had a good look at it and it certainly shows up the inefficiencies of their products. They appear to be a relatively new product so I guess a person might expect teething troubles so I will follow their products with interest to see if the comments become more favourable.

I see advantages and disadvantages in all of the different companies products - I noted that my MInelab after being swept away in flooded waters and getting 100% saturated functioned well after opening up and drying as all of the circuitry is enshrouded in what is a thick layer of plastic or rubber compound and thats a real positive as it seals the circuitboards from moisture...I hope!

As for what overdog says about swinging the Goldbug - I think after seeing Greggs (Guardians) Garrett I prefer it to my Goldbug...and both are tremendous value for money!

Both Gregg and myself have Garrett AT Golds. If you got one now Garrett have adjusted them to suit the harsh Australian grounds

so they should be good in all soil conditions.I also noted that the AT Pro performed well prospecting over there as well and is

probably a better all round detector e.g. for coin shooting and relic hunting, but the Gold would have the edge on finding small gold

as it operates at a higher frequency.

I think I prefer Greggs Garrett to my Goldbug as it really does seem to pick up small pieces of gold at a marginally greater distance and with a nice clear tone
