Well I was thinking about starting a new finds page as my last one was getting a bit long. And now I can't access it so here's my new page. Trip #26 I had the wrong time for an appointment so I went to detect in a nearby park with some surprising results.. so you better believe that I will be back first chance that I get. Here's the pic: ADMIN NOTE: SORRY, REMOVED IMAGE AS URL WAS CAUSING PAGE TO CRASH (NOT SURE WHY YET) Goldnut's Blog

just found out why I am not finding some of those engagement rings and only finding big rings... I am actually crying right now in stupidity! I usually block out foil but now I know why I need to keep it notched in...

No worries, will resolve tonight when I can get at the database ;)

Discovered the issue - wasn't the image links themselves, it was how you were formatting them. I'm guessing you must have been copying and pasting them from your blog, but your blog uses a slightly different format to these forums which causes a parser to throw a hissy fit.

These are for the F2... They are not mine but they are some american forum that is for the F2 detector. I must say that yesterday I did try to put it on foil... but I realised why I don't pretty quickly. You get so much more trash! I think that I will just have to make do using the nickle setting and not the foil. Unless I am at the beach where rings are more likely to fall off.

I hunt in all metal mode always. What the machine tells you it is, is not always wot it is.

very true, I did acheck on some gold rings that i have and for a small engagement ring 18k my id was a solid 18 or nickle signal. and that was on high sensitivity. I also noticed that the signals change depending on the sensitivity setting as well... because recently I have been detecting on the highest setting and some things register differently then on the standard 75% sensitivity.

I met fellow detectorist today when I was passing a beach, I stopped and had a chat with him and he has a garrett Ace 250. He seemed keen to have a go with me sometime for a detect. I didn't think there was anyone else nearby but that was pretty cool. He shares the same problem that I used to have when I didn't have my pinpointer... that is having to pass everything by the coil...

Went hunting for silver yesterday at the site. I dug everything in the foil range, week and strong signals. And there it was, a 42 shilling from a substandard hit in the foil range. Found other coins to from week signals.. Why am i digging these signals, because ive already been over the place and now im doing a second run picking up all those foil type hits that i buzzed past before and im finding heaps again.
