Took a friend for a quick demonstration coin hunt in a local park this afternoon, and the 2nd coin he pulled up was a 1950 half crown.

Needless to say, he's hooked. Anyone have a 2nd hand Ace 250 (or maybe 350) they want to offload in order to upgrade?

Cheers,

NZ$305 including shipping new from e-bay dealer.
I think the fisher F2 is the same price. If that's the case wouldn't the F2 be a better buy ?
I've never used a fisher but it seems you get more bang for your buck.
Of course if warranty is an issue then Robert would be the guy to buy from.

If he is really keen on a second hand ace 250 I can probably get one for about $270 it's in Chch in very good condition with the exception of a small surface chip out of the coil.

Cough cough go the F2 cough cough. Target id is gooooood. $100 odd bucks out of 5 playgrounds here in Motueka in two hours. Wish I could sustain that for a 40 hour week! Wouldnt need to go home! :)

Never having used either - would any of the fisher detectors match an AT Gold? The specs on the AT Gold look pretty impressive.

F2's are around 350 here or a wee bit cheaper if you bring one in from the States. Havnt seen one secondhand but they must be out there.

I think the F2 would beat the 250 due to having target ID?

Even my GTI2500's target ID is fairly broad - going up in 0.5 steps from 0 to 11? (approx 22 values) whereas the F2 appears to have a lot finer target ID capability?

Andy good to meet ya tonight if we meet up for another hunt I'l bring my F2 and show ya what she can do lol..certainly doesn't play songs like that XLT was tonight haha

like any machine its cool with the ID output, but also ya learn the tones verses depth verses ID verses what else ya've dug that deep verses how old the target should be verses how many beers ya've had

I watched a vid once of the ace 250 finding a mean piece of roman gold in england

That Garrett you're using looks like the go shame the price is up there or i'd buy one lol

The Garrett v's Fisher debate often pops up. Its always good to hear the comparisons between machines.
