A couple of months ago I decided to go panning for gold. The first spot I tried produced several nice pieces of gold per pan so several days later I returned with a small sluice box. Within an hour I had run out of the gold bearing gravel and started to strike old workings, I guess I was just lucky in striking a small area the old fellas had missed. The area I worked was just a small gutter in the parpa that run parrel with the creek but was up out of the creek.

I have spent several days since panning in the local creeks but have not even come close to finding colour like that again.

If only it was always that easy - we would all be doing it! Oh wait... we are all doing it anyway. Its still not always that easy.
