That's a goodly lot of yellow stuff.
Just wondering how you recovered it
eg: detecting, just panning, crevice etc. or is
that a sensitive question.

BTW excellent accommodation with a view :-)

Nice going!!! Beats my recent haul but a long shot!

So did you find this close to water or was it more up on the banks, perhaps old water route?

Cheers,
Gavin

hatter, you must be pretty confident to camp under that rock.

i know they say it's probably been like that for eons...

i've seen some pretty solid schist come down when you least expect it.

it's always at the back of my mind that even a little quake when i'm in the wrong place will spell disaster. especially when alone.

a while back i had a rockfall come down right where i had just established a semi-permanent spot for my sluice.

some nice gold there though.

let me know if you are over this way anytime.

i've got a few secret spots to check out. will require a good couple of nights roughing it.

nice going
that last photo is why i love this past time along with spearfishing
freedom far away from the stress of modern day life, no one to tell you what to day, no one to give you a fine for going 6 k's over the limit.

and at the end of the day you havent thought of anything else but finding gold! pure relaxing

cheers

G'day Hatter, Well done mate. Sure beats the half ounce I got a couple of weeks ago when I was down in Central detecting for 4 days. Sure does look like nice water worn stream gold. Not like the ugly shotty quartz & iron stone rock encrusted gold I got that miles away from any stream. Reef gold.
Was that found with a gold bug? I had a play with my Whites GMT & found a couple of slugs with it. Biggest was just over 2 grams.

Happy hunting

JW :)
